They probably just figure it's dementia.
Hey! I still don't wear an Aerostich (it's in the mail...)

Not the one with spokes but this one:

Dumb idea to buy one with zero intent of going off road? Are they comfy and handle well in twisties??
Just thinking out loud.
The I followed up with an RT ride and as much as I liked the GS the RT is the bike for me right now, it just fits and feels right.

Well I got to take a GS out today, did some twisty & freeway time on it. What a GREAT bike and the new water cooled versions are no slouches either, it will surprise you. Instant like right off the bat, I can see myself having one someday.

Sat on all the BMWs this weekend.S1000R and RnineT are too agressive for my tastesThe only ones that felt good were the F800GS, R1200GS and R1200R.
Honestly, I forgot. I would have.
I think an RT would be perfect for me if I was doing long rides all the time, I certainly love all the gadgets and comfort features, but it's ENORMOUS and I have zero saddle experience on such bikes.
Plus i mostly commute and I want something smaller and nimble for lane splitting and such.
The girl I had over yesterday said "That's a huge bike" when she saw the 800...
It looks big but that's very deceiving. That was one of my reasons for never wanting something 'that big' until I took one out. Very well balanced and in the twisties I wiil say nimble. It's great for around town as well as long trips.
Obviously, RT and GS appeal to different emotions and preferences.
I rode an RT (previous gen, unsure about the year) for about 26 miles, from 25/Coalinga Rd junction to King City via Lonoak Rd. The RT’s controls were light effort, the bike felt fluid; strong brakes, compliant suspension – a very pleasant, comfortable long distance bike. I want to try an FJR to see how it compares.
On the list to test ride. But then if I wanted that I'd consider the K1600GTL as well.
Guy at work has one, looks amazing. Same colors as my F800GS.
