TILT customs group buy/FREE trackday

you kids think it is so easy to do small claims :rofl

anyhoo, I heard from Daniel this morning, he responded to an email I sent, oh, last week, saying that he was waiting to hear back from this side on what to do with the leathers (we inquired about having them shipped) and he is surprised that we thought he was scamming us (or whatever word)

I told him to answer his phone cos there are a few unhappy people here on barf, and he needs to take care of business. Hopefully everything will work out and everybody gets their stuff

actually small claims isnt that difficult, getting your money after the judge has awarded you it.....now that can be difficult. lol

Took me 8 months before I decided to take it to small claims. I tried my best to be reasonable about payment and even offered payments plans. The person kept promising to pay, but never did. So I finally decided to go the small claims route, the person lawyered up but once the judge read the contract took her all of 2 min to say , " pay him." haha. Took another 60 days to get the money awarded. A pain, but it was $3500 i wasn't just going to ignore.

Got an Email from Dan a couple days ago. He's actually emailed me twice in the past three months, but they got buried in the dangerous morass that is my inbox, and so that's on me for not looking hard enough.

People, I don't know what Dan's deal is, but given the way he's dealt with me, I think it would be ENTIRELY unfair to call him a liar, a cheat, or a thief. Yes, he's been very difficult these past few months, but never dishonest (towards me).

I just got another email from Dan apologizing for this. It appears that he has had some professional and personal issues to deal with of late, but is sincerely sorry for this absence.

Hopefully he is back on track now and everyone will be contacted/receive their leathers etc

Original custom suit ordered 2/20/09 . . . (11/26/09) still no functional suit in hand. Last I heard, a solution to my serious fit issues was in the works, but the protracted delays and lack of contact/updates are starting to be very dis-concerting.

:wtf

This Calls for Another:teeth Great Package Deal ! :thumbup:teeth

Just curious if everyone was able to sort out their issues with Daniel.....

I got my september track day (sold it to someone else that could make it)....

I got my suit..about 2 months late, not a big deal...it didn't fit perfectly....not a big deal, Daniel said he would remeasure and make sure it was made correctly or fix the problem...i've been slacking at making it down to his place to meet him but getting a hold of him to setup a time to meet has not been very successful.

I got my gloves....they were a bit small...almost immediately asked Daniel to trade for larges....he said he didn't have any yet...no problem, i need gloves so I'll wear these until then...

I didn't get my back protector...not a big deal, can't fit in the suit right now...

so overall, I think i've been pretty patient, i understand some of the issues he's had and can claim fault for some of the tardyness but I just pinged him again...

1. he says doesn't stock gloves so he doesn't have a large pair to give me....why weren't they stocked when i said i needed to swap mine?

2. the back protectors are in...why not call me when it got there?

3. still haven't been able to nail down when he is available to check the suit out..

I looked for the tilt custom suit review page but it looks like it is gone..e-mailed budman but haven't heard from him.

just checking to see who is in the same boat?

Going on one year dealing with getting my suit. Sometimes he's on the ball and other times he disappears. From my experience over the last year, he doesn't seem to be too proactive in letting you know the status on things.I've always had to remind him that he owed me an update. He's getting a tiny bit better though........

I finally got my suit literally yesterday, but still need to try it on to make sure it fits. Crossing my fingers b/c I don't want to deal with this any longer.

Just keep trying.......texting seems to be the most successful form of communication from my experience.

I got mine a few months ago. It was the wrong color scheme; not just a few panels out of place, ENTIRELY the wrong scheme. It's like he lost my specification and just decided to make something up. I got in contact with him, and pointed out my post in this thread where I posted my design, but he was a bit obtuse about it, and after a few emails, he stopped replying entirely, and I gave up. I haven't even seen or heard about the back protector, and I doubt I ever will. The final product itself looks good, is built solidly, and fits well, but I would not recommend doing business with Dan until he's demonstrated that he's sorted his reliability issues out.

I really wanted to support this business, and met Daniel in person at one point to try out a suit that had been returned for size issues. Didn't fit, but seemed very solid and well built for the price point. Unfortunately, with the sketchy history he's developed here, it's doubtful that I will be gambling any of my money ordering a suit from Tilt.

Daniel, I'm sure you know this already, but as a small business owner myself, let me tell you that your operation will live or die based foremost on your customer service. Your product is good, but you need to respond to the people.

i got mine like mid- January, quite a long wait. Suit fits well, maybe 1/2 inch too long in the sleeves... alil tough to get my guantlets on because of the extra length protruding into my hands. Knees are alil tight, overall im still satisfied with the quality for the price, and they did a really good job on my letters.

I havent gotten my back protector, and dont think i ever will, in fact i dont even know what it looks like or what the quality is like... can somebody post up a pic?

i would be a return customer IF he gets everything rolling in a smooth fashion. The product/quality is good, just quite alot of delays.
