Time for another BART strike? (Contract rejected)

I hope this provides Bart a way to fire every last one of those sorry fuck losers. Start all over, train new button pushers, bust up all the unions, and I guarantee we'll get better service from day 1. Fucking union workers are lazy and greedy as fuck. Trust me I used to work with them.

Are you up to speed on the fact that Bart managment rejected ratifying this contract that they themselves signed. Lemme guess.... Nope :facepalm

The level of fail in this thread is right up there with BART management.

California just won another study as the worst managed State in the Nation.

Yes, actually I am up to speed. That's why I said I hope this provides a way.......

Just what exactly are you face palming for? Are you pro Bart union or something?

Basicly you agree that contracts mean nothing, and any tool to force honest working people out of thier jobs is ok.

Yes, I am very much pro UNION, pro fairness, and pro American.

So much so that you only seem to see it from one side.
I see it the way I see it, you may assume that but one sided is stretching it. Enlighten me as to how this bad faith bargaining was a fault of said union.

Holding entire region hostage and demanding high pay for low skill jobs is a bullshit.

+1. These people should be glad they have somehow managed to land 6 figure jobs with a high school diploma. Instead, they have gotten greedy and demand things that no one in the private sector enjoys. I say dissolve the union and let the market decided what these positions should pay.

One thing I dislike is that they are lumped into the SEIU, they should have their OWN union, and not be stuck in there with my bartender friends and whatnot.

Awesome cartoon! The union guy is eavesdropping and hasn't dug much of anything with all that gear he has. I lol'd! Thanks Elmer.

Sonny, unions are most certainly, NOT capitalist. Capitalism, truly has no provisions for safety nets, nor the collective. It's a pretty brutal system when humanity is considered, but there's a reason; it's a reality economic system of incentives and wealth, nothing more. There is no metric to consider social anything in capitalism.

I saw the same thing. :laughing

The burden of artificial price manipulation almost always falls on the shoulder of consumers either in the form of increased prices and/or taxes. I'm willing to pay higher prices to help keep kids from sucking in coal dust in god forsaken mines and such but I honestly don't feel like subsidizing the quality of life of your average blue collar worker. Heartless? Maybe. If you're not truly in a poverty trap, I just don't care. If you want a better job, work harder and/or get a different job. Simpo!

As a point of interest, in terms of looking at things from the perspective of extremes, unionizing everything under the sun in the name of equity will actually lead to a net zero (possibly a touch negative due to taxes) impact on the average quality of life because the increases in wage will be offset with increased cost of living. :laughing :laughing

You're obtuse to think it was in any way one sided, you guys just like to parrot the anti-union crap.

Take a deep breathe. There is a reason why the public (even in the uber liberal bay area) have overwhelmingly sided with Bart management during this debacle. You have very low skilled workers, earning far above market wages, holding the general public hostage while they continue to fight for absurd benefits that no one in the private sector enjoys. No one wants to see the people whose salary we pay get fat at the trough while still crying about having to pay something towards their own health care (one example). Very out of touch with the reality most of their ridership face.
