Vegan climbs Mount Everest to prove they aren't weak..

I always found it entertaining that people will hire somebody to carry all their stuff, then claim that they acheived the great feat of climbing a mountain.

I wonder if they also say they spent all day cleaning their house when they hire a maid.

I'll break it down for you Jordan. Us neanderthals need to stick together.

The joke, rather the punchline, indicated that a male vegan has a vagina. The part that makes the joke both funny and offensive is that it indicates that a man having a vagina is less manly than a man without a vagina. And it correlates this indication with being a vegan (also inferred to be less manly in the joke).

While I can see how this may be offensive to some parties, it really is a harmless joke. But in this day and age the only acceptable joke seems to be:

It's Albert, your neighbor. It's not dark out and I'm wearing light colored neutral clothing, so as not to be confused with something offensive or otherwise. I was wondering if perhaps I could borrow some sugar. You see, my wife was making gluten free cookies and we ran out of sugar. Of course, we need free trade organic whole grain sugar. Thanks Bill.
 
You made a joke in poor taste. Someone didn't like it and called you out on it. Now you are acting all but hurt. This is an open forum. You are free to make offensive jokes, someone else is free to call you out on them.

Sure. And I am free to feel they are being ridiculous. And you are free to disagree. We are all free here. Yaayyyyyy.

And I'm not butthurt. I'm more surprised at the reaction and expectations that a group of dudes (and some women) aren't going to act like a group of dudes (and some women).

But two things:

1. I don't the joke is in poor taste considering the venue, the content, and the audience. Maybe I am wrong, but that's how I feel.

2. Since when did BARF KS become the PC, college friendly safe-spot it seems to have become? My God.
 
If someone gets offended by a joke we should all respect that.
And regarding the history of the forum regarding misogyny, I totally understand why this would be considered inappropriate.

I like dark humor (look my previous post on this thread) but this one wasn't funny and TWT can totally call you out on this without anyone getting hurt in his sensibility lol.

I like the irony of the situation though lmao.

If you did the climb, even with someone handing you an oxygen bottle once in a while, I'm betting you'd feel you'd accomplished the hardest thing you've ever done.

Some of these clients aren't world-class alpinists, but they're not sipping Mai Thai's on the beach, either.
 
After reading how the two guys made it to the top with no oxygen, it's pretty stupid and very dangerous and not to be admired,

Well you have been called out on your joke clearly you miss judged the audience, or at least part of it. Then instead of just acknowledging that not everyone might find your joke funny and moving on with your life, you went of on "OMG, WHAT IS THIS PLACE COMING TO, SAFE SPACE, etc".
