VW "Clean" Diesel not really clean

Since tese payments are part of a lawsuit settlement, they shouldn't be taxable, right?

I turned my Jetta TDI in on 1/23. We got $20,600 for it. It was a 2013 with 99k miles. We replaced it with a Fusion Hybrid.

Wow lots of turn ins. We are going to milk ours out till late-2018. Ours has only 28K and it is a 2014 Passat. We love the car. Especially the mileage. Based on the doc they sent us we should be getting at least $28K back.

we were too afraid of either having a costly mechanical, or of getting in an accident. so opted to play it safe and turn it in

If you need repairs, it's a no brainer. But if it's new and you can milk the mileage....do it

The purpose of a lawsuit is to make you whole again

Once you've become whole, anything over that is taxable

Hence punitive (punishment) damages are taxable
Pain and suffering is not

Anyone take a good look at the new AWD golf wagon yet?
I think I could get one and still have cash back when I sell back my 13 sportwagen.

I thought they were supposed to write you a check when you drop it off!?

On a TDI forum, I've heard some issues with both getting a check and getting the electric transfer.

The check SHOULD be there waiting for you but if the driver puts more miles on the car in the window of setting up the appointment and the actual appointment, that will affect the amount they get back.

This is way many have selected getting the check. They balk at the miles and need to adjust the payout amount, sure, I'll keep the car and setup another appointment instead of giving them my car and waiting.

I'm looking at the All Track to replace our Forester in a year or so.

They don't offer the AWD sportwagen in the higher trims, so as not to compete with the All Track.

Yeah one of them is simply a Skoda Octavia 4motion while the other one is closer to an Audi A4 Avant AWD.

Such a marketing mess :laughing Why why why

All track is the audi, right?

It's the new VW AWD Golf Wagon.
