VW "Clean" Diesel not really clean

As they fucked with the EV home rates..now they're going to "give some back". Thanks PG&E. Your rate plans suck! It's like getting a reach around for free...(kinda).

Payment is your ass, when you're getting a reach around. Otherwise it's just a handjob.

daymn lotta blabbing about Dubs next car, not so much blabbing about VW TDI buy back!!!

We are scheduled to turn in our car Feb 6th, took the 3 day electric transfer.

i dont think we'd take off bumpers, but heck, the tail lights and headlights are easy enough to remove, small to store until sold, and worth good $ .....

I have 16s but I do have a set of whispbar roof rack bars and a curt trailer hitch I am taking off mine for sale.
Also factort all weather floormats.

Ours might have 18" wheels. lemmie check when violet gets home

today violet turned in the 2011 TDI with 63k miles, got $20,700ish :thumbup
not bad considering we bought it about 3.5 years ago with 50k miles for $14.5 after taxes

shame to see that car go, such a solid and fast vehicle. and yeah it had 17's, sorry Mike

So they basically paid you to drive it for 13k miles? :laughing Nice dude. Decided on the replacement yet or did I miss that post?

no idea if funds are taxable. we arnt going to claim it if thats what u r asking

Violets car needs have changed, so we are looking at a 10 year old honda civic type of thing for her. something cheap to run and reliable.

yeah we basically got paid $5000 to drive around a car for 13k/miles... yeah, i'll take that :thumbup

Are the funds taxable?

Owners who sell their cars back would not owe tax if the combined payment (trade-in plus cash payment) was less than their basis, which is generally what they paid for the car (or the depreciated basis if they used it in a business). If it was more than their basis, they could owe tax on the excess.

yada yada yada, not admitting a tax dodge or anything....

You might want to delete this, just sayin. I had to cut the IRS a check for $2k this year on an honest fuck up. They do check things from time to time.
