Warriors 16-17 Season

I'm really hoping the Celtics stay hot. The road in the east wont be as easy as it was last year. Celtics will give Cavs a hard fought battle. Raptors maybe if Kyle Lowry can come back ready to play.

Wizards with Wall and Beal and Gortat as well. I don't see the Cavs sweeping a series and can see the Celtics win.

I really hope the Spurs stay hot. I don't think the road out west will be easy as it was last year. Spurs will give the Warriors a hard battle, and probably OKC too. Westbrook is great.

I just don't see the Warriors sweeping this year. They barely pulled off the 3-1 comeback last year, only to go up 3-1 and lose.

:twofinger

And John, I *did* say for the most part. And to be fair, the shit talking was only done once the Championship was decided.

^ The road out west hasn't been easy the past 4-5 years, what are you talking about. It likely will be harder for Warriors which is incredible considering how it was last year.

Cavs walked to the finals past 2 seasons.

Interesting points Jason Whitlock brought up on that show with Colin Cowherd, who by they way thinks Curry is just an all-star and not a franchise player. Whitlock thinks Curry has been holding back a little this year so he's fresher for the playoffs. Last year he played the whole season at such a high level, come playoffs time he was tired.

Don't take me too seriously on that last post.

Interesting comment on all star vs franchise player. I'm kind of inclined to agree - not because Steph is a bad player (he's not) but just based upon the dynamics of that team. Warriors weren't assembled around a star, rather they assembled a group of folks who luckily panned out. Steph was questionable due to injuries, but has certainly turned out to be a great player.

There are a few teams out there with a franchise player, but certainly none to the extent of the current Cavs.

I'm kind of puzzled by several of the comments though...the guy is the face of the Warriors worldwide, he's sold more high-priced tees and jerseys than Che Guevara and Jesus probably. Yes, there is a purposeful ethos of team over individual so it could be argued that it's irrelevant to name a franchise player for the current Dubs... His talent level, and records held and broken are pretty incredible; but he's just not a big dude who slams the glass and never will be. Ever since last year, I keep hearing in my head, the voice of Barkley saying "he's just a shooter." I guess he's not alone in that concept.

He has kind of retreated this year though to Kawhi and the Beard and in a way, I bet its more relaxing for him personally. If that means less fame, he's already been there, done that, no terrible need to be the hot shit. I can't say that about LeFlop. He just seems to really need that, but in fairness, its good for his after-basketball career to be as famous as possible right up to the farewell tour....I think Steph is a lot more secure in himself and he has good reason to be, his dad, his faith, I can't imagine the contrast of the two men's upbringing up by comparison. It seems like Steph was groomed for his job, LeBron had to find his way, and handle his unfamiliar success without the support system, unless all who profit by his ability can be considered support.

I guess its one of those things sports radio guys like to argue about, like top ten lists, etc etc... I think Steph is the most well-known Warrior perhaps in history by NOW, so I don't know what's left to deny the concept of franchise player.

All those kids around the country* in Curry jerseys are just dummies.... :x

*They're everywhere, aren't they?

The National Basketball Association (NBA) today announced that reigning Kia NBA MVP Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors remain in the top spots on the NBA’s Most Popular Jersey and Team Merchandise lists, respectively. Results are based on NBAStore.com sales from October 2016 through December 2016.

Rounding out the top five are the Cleveland Cavaliers’ LeBron James (No. 2), the Warriors’ Kevin Durant (No. 3), the Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving (No. 4) and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Russell Westbrook (No. 5).

The Warriors hold on as the top-selling team, followed by the Cavaliers at No. 2, the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 3, the Chicago Bulls at No. 4 and the New York Knicks at No. 5.

Nice feel good game against Orlando. Ws were doing everything right and Magic were doing everything wrong, so it made the Ws look even better, but they were good. His 3 point shot was off again but at least Curry is smart enough and selfless enough to look for Thompson when Klay is hot. And he can still make pretty layups.

Know why Klay went hot to start that game off? He walked right past us and gave my wife a fist bump in the tunnel as he came out for warm ups. I spread the good juju.

Guys, it's the toaster. 2-0 since Klay signed the one guy's toaster.

"Toaster, you're the real MVP"

I predicted they would hold Westbrick to 14. He got 15 tonight.

Jesus technical christ

Steph Curry, King of the Fuck You Three Pointer :twofinger

I would have given Ts to Curry, Westbrick, and Christo or whoever that anonymous white jersey was who started it, but Draymond? He was no more deserving of a T than Taj Gibson, who was keeping the peace. But because he's Draymond...

Westbrook and Dray got Ts for being Westbrook and Dray.

Curry just destroyed the whole city with that three after though.

What a lovely beatdown amidst all the MVP talk about the frowning Westbrook. He can triple-double his way all the way into the first round. At least most of the fans got off the cupcake bit with the notable exception of the giant one with the crutch.

I was so happy to see curry rail that 3 at the buzzer on the outlet from klay after the jump-ball scuffle

Same. I don't normally yell at the tv, but we were watching it in the DVR around 2330 and a loud YESS! just escaped when he nailed it. Everything about it was perfect.

Nice statement to the rest of the league, I think. A swing thru Texas is on the schedule for next week against the other MVP front runners, some more statements like that will be needed since I don't think players can be rested.

Oh yeah, speaking of rest, looks like Smeagol (Adam SILVER) weighed in on the rest bit. Leave it to LeBron to make the trouble force his comment. Ha.

Get rid of back to back games and it would solve a lot of it.

I'm still glad Kerr did what he did, but LeFlop kind of made it look like a "me,too!!!" thing. But it's okay because I agree with protesting the kind of scheduling they inflicted on the Dubs.

it was so funny listening to the announcers whine about the rest on both games. If they were trying to get this fan mad, it didn't work.

... and the back to back 2nd game was against the Lakers, in the same building.

Granted, Kyrie and Love were hurt, but for LBJ to choose to sit a Saturday Prime Time game against the Clippers, and then play the woeful Lakers the following night had to be the final straw for Silver.

Very interesting power struggle between players and the League and of course his Majesty the Hairline...I'll just eat popcorn and watch...You wanna hype guys beyond reason? Suffer the consequences.

You notice how on some of the promos for games, they graphically twirl the basketball so you see Adam Silver's name? It's such a weird way to remind us all of his importance....A signature on a bat is one thing, made by a player. All I can think of is beancounter accountant from hell....
