Warriors 16-17 Season

I'm sure the Cavs would have had more success had LBJ stayed in Cleveland and allowed their front office to build a team around him, but they wouldn't have had the high draft picks that got them someone like Kyrie.

Yeah, they may have had to create a system for finding talent where others don't see it. It would be an arrogant thing to do, but it could work! Or so I've heard.

Let's not twist the words, ok?

There's always random chance involved. It's not all luck - I never said that it was... the point was merely that GS had a great draw, so be happy. You were very fortunate.

I'm from Cleveland. I know sports loss in a way you cannot fathom, so stuff like this 'ship doesn't really phase me. What I *do* know is how to appreciate something like this.

Just enjoy it. Christ.

Dude, I'm from outside of Philly, challenge accepted.

I was born in bryn mawr (sp) or right around there, so I guess I can jump on the pity train too! Luckily my parents came to Arrogant-afornia when I was young!

And he's been enveloped in a cloud of smug ever since.:laughing

I *do* know this (why do smart guys use asterisks instead of quotation marks?).

This discussion turned ugly because of the fact that Durant joined the Warriors. Should they have tried to win with garbage like Ezeli, Varejao and Barnes? They merely took steps to improve their roster - as all teams should - and so far it has worked out.

To quote BleacherReport:

In this society, we revere excellence, but resent excess. Golden State is the NBA's 1 percenter, the billionaire who just bought a fourth yacht.

I understand the hardship of constant losing as I'm an Oakland A's fan.

What's happening here though and in the sports world is Warrior fans are feeling defensive because their teams' performance and dominance is constantly being diminished as lucky and undeserving or any other excuse that can be rationalized.

I read in the comments some Cavs fan saying Durant's championship has a asterisk on it because he joined the Warriors :wow :wtf Many believe it despite it being an absurd thought.

What are they going to say when he and Steph choose less money this off season in order to keep Iggy and Livingston?

how many more finals will KD have to win before he takes the #1 spot?

in this series of 5, KD outplayed LBJ like 60-75% of the time

or in true 1 v 1, who wins, LBJ definitely has more drive/strength but KD seems like he has more stamina

WTF is it with Cleveland fans and asterisks? They were yelping for them in 2015 because of Love and Kyrie getting hurt....

Better send a truckload of that remedy shown before then. They *need* it.

Srsly, what bugs me about Kestrel's narrative, from "you bought yourself a championship" to the smug and arrogant bit is that some dude from the BA is probably getting beaten now in a bar in Cleveland by somebody using that kind of hate speech bullshit. Can;t lose a basketball game without resorting to class warfare when we all know long-suffering Dubs fans who do NOT deserve such a thing, are niether rich, arrogant or jaded about winning. Yeah, we've had year after year of Finals rings, you betcha, no problem. Especially considering we were overshadowed by Lakers for all those years. Crikey.

Dude. What bothers me is your (fictional) narrative.

Tell you what...

Let's all just agree to disagree. Sports passion is illogical bullshit anyway, so let's just call it a day...

Ok?

I mean... Sure - this is the sink... But it doesn't have to be the metaphorical political sub forum.

You like your team, I like my team...

Truce?

Peace treaty?

I'm ready if you are.

I ain't at war. I just have to challenge your narrative. I don't like bein called arrogant or a snob when I'm merely a lucky fan of a perennial losing team that finally got good.

Fine though. How bout them Giants? Nyuk.

Kestrel the hurt you feel now is nothing compared to the hurt we felt this time last year.

He should have an easier time than Lebron with the GSW core intact for a few years, unless Myers fails to rebuild the bench. KD had to play 35 minutes, Lebron had to play 47 minutes. Nobody can carry a team having to play all those minutes.

Warriors are going to rebuild around the core four. Bye bye Barnes, Clark, probably Javale and Zaza.

Zach Randolph is rumored to be interested. I'd keep David west and get Zach Randolp, considering they'll take the vet minimum.

great win. great team. great season. So happy they brought the 'ship back. Both teams gave everything, which made a pretty entertaining finals.

very good challenge by the Cavs. They made the W's earn it. They set some records to beat the W's in game 4. Very difficult to play that kind of bball, but they pulled it off. Tip of my cap to them.

No kidding? Ws could use his rebounding, and inside play when their bench isn't shooting. (But who knows what the bench will be next year!) He's a good fit for Memphis but they are one of those teams that are on the cusp, just not good enough to make it to the finals.

Hey Vince Carter is also available. :teeth
