From General:

I want to thank all of the Liberals that have voted in our Liberal legislature & Liberal governor for killing this event so that all of us can now freely go Easter Egg hunting on our local church lawn. It is what makes Bay Area riding so gratifying.

It’s a shame that the government can’t do more to help these people. Liberals are in charge and this is where we are. . Many homeless are mentally ill, drunks or addicts and need treatment, some homeless are in the run from the law and need to be rounded up, many others just need a hand up with a job or to brush up their skills to be employable.
During the 1930’s FDR created many government-run programs to help those out of work during the Depression. Something like that ought to done now. If someone has two good arms and two good legs they could put be to work doing a variety of jobs for the government, or for companies backed by the government instead of left to rot in the sidewalk. And something needs to done about government subsidized housing so low wage earners can afford to live in a decent place that’s clean and safe. Work improves a person’s self-esteem and self-confidence by making them a productive member of society instead of a panhandler.
Those that can’t work due to addiction or mental illness or physical disability should be given the treatment they need and deserve. It’s inhuman that our leaders aren’t doing more.
Anyway, just my humble opinion.

I don't think tyranny in the context of the 2a is the same as a fucking idiot in office doing stupid shit - we have had that for quite some time, trump was just worse.

We had an out of control president. The "well regulated militia" didn't do anything until he was very nearly out of office- and that was to attempt to "reclaim" there capitol building for him.

I have more faith in US checks and balances than you do and they were renewed earlier this year despite the dithering we see now.

The below edited out for PC

“That mythical President would have to have the Military in their back pocket.

I'll let ex Military address address their thoughts on the Military ever "taking over" the Country at the behest of an out of control President”.

We were up at Loon Lake for much of this week. It was fabulous, pretty full but quiet and calm with folks chillin' and looking out for and being respectful of each other.

As we departed for home on Saturday, we passed convoys of Trump Flaggers heading up Ice House Rd, towing giant powerboats and UTV's up to what had been a peaceful kayaking lake.

On our way back we saw Trump Flaggers setting up at various points on the freeway. I can only hope that CHP cleared them out.

Heartbreaking to see independence day hijacked by disrespectful, self-entitled asshats.

For everyone here concerned with the spread of Covid and unvaccinated people, what are your thoughts on the Border Crisis?

I've been in Texas 10 weeks this year and I've seen the border for myself and the numbers of immigrants crossing is real, if not under-counted.

An extremely high percentage of them are untested, unvaccinated, and released into the USA interior with NGOs. Now there are reports of them being found to have full blown Covid in public such as in this article: https://dfw.cbslocal.com/2021/07/28/la-joya-covid-migrants-whataburger/

As vocal as your are about the unvaccinated, does that also apply to these immigrants? If so, have you called or written to your public officials to "Shutdown the Border"?

You know... In the name of "Public Safety" and the "Spread of Covid".

From the sink:

Written in 2017 and no mention of Covid of course. Sorry, apples to oranges bud. Yuppies and measles is different than a global pandemic and lockdowns. Trump and team red made Covid political. To argue differently is to gaslight. Sorry not falling for it.

From the sink:
What? Is this another opposite day on BARF? Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Nancy Pelosi all said they would NOT take the Trump vaccine. Who made it political?

We wouldn't have had shit without Trump's warp-speed. Whether you like him or not, he deserves credit for saving our asses. Compared to the rest of world, we were a year ahead of the problem.

Maybe, like 90% of the crap in the sink, this should move to political, too.

Read man, damn! It's not complicated.

Biden administration duh!!!. Smoke and mirrors with the eviction moratorium and the perception they are taking care of and watching out for the little guy. Not a complicated concept to follow even if you don't agree. Get you dependent on services in exchange for votes.

Anything Weiner does should be opposed. He is the epitome of the fart sniffing, out of touch, using government as a sledgehammer to advance his own personal agenda political hack. He's also the one who floated a bill to ban bear hunting in the state.

I think people should get the vaccine. I am generally against the government forcing things on people, though. Continue to allow the golden calf of the right, "the free market", decide how to proceed. If private businesses want proof of vaccination for their employees, well, aren't we a right to work state? And if a private business wants its patrons proof of vaccination, that's just freedom in America. Don't like it? Don't spend your money there.
