I think they can handle more laps but they would bitch about drive home.Cause all you Bay Area chumps can't handle more laps!![]()
Instead around 4pm races may end around 5pm and they will get home around 9pm instead 8pm. That is way past their bed time

And I was told you work with numbers for a day job?
The marginal difference in duration would not be dependent on the average lap time; rather it would be a function of the slowest rider on the grid. Then there is the additional downtime resulting from any issue that cause downtime (e.g., red flag), which, barring data to show otherwise, is likely proportional to runtime.
Carry On.
Allow me to clarify: by "average" I meant the average laptime differential for the backmarkers in all 12 classes. If you go to the AFM website and check out the 2009 results from May 24 (Infineon) vs. June 16 (T-hill) you will notice that the backmarkers from all the different AFM classes are about 10 seconds per lap slower at T-hill than Infineon. I didn't build a spreadsheet, I just sort of eyeballed the results to come to that estimate. Since the backmarkers typically dictate the total time of a race (unless they get lapped), I went by their times rather than the fast guys who are often out of their leathers by the time the backmarkers pull into the pits... So the "average" I was referring to was the average laptime differential for all backmarkers in all 12 races, not the average of all AFM racers (which would be actually irrelevant to the total time of each race). In these hard economic times, I want to steer away from charging any extra $$$ for the 2 laps.
Guys can we keep it on the topic of laps being raced ? And not the clubs finances. Thanks. The reason I mentioned $$ in my post, is because Shawnery did, and I want to steer away from charging the racers more. But as for going off topic about what tracks charge what$$$ lets keep it on the original topic of laps being raced.

See now you guys are getting all silly, and nobody takes it serious. 10 laps is asking for too much and we all know that would not happen. But 8 just like Sears could work. Lets not get greedy. If they give an inch, lets not take a mile.
