( new goat trail? pffffft. :hand have you ridden Sycamore Slough Road yet? ? :laughing )

When are we going!? :ride

Oregon Hill was a laugh riot! :laughing

BTW, when 162 does finally open, do yourself a favor and go ride it. You can get there and back in a day if you're willing to slab to Oroville. If you want to make the ride more interesting, make it an overnighter. :ride

It wasn't till we went through Oregon House that I realized that we missed Oregon Hill. :laughing

We had a great time going up Willow Glenn and LaPorte. If we pushed a little more, we probably could have snapped a couple of pix of Little Grass Valley Reservoir.

We slabbed it back from Arbuckle. Man that wind was brutal. Feel a little beat up today. Can't wait to do it again!

I feel like I should be riding today. :dunno :twofinger

Had a great time with y'all: Chill, planegray, Kurt, Ogg and the whole Barf crew.
And super thanks to John from Reno(railing on a Concours) for showing me the way on 49!!! :hail

See y'all in Hawthorne. :ride

Great Time , y'all. Short but sweet!

Thanks Tom, Kurt for putting the time and gargantuan effort to put these things together!

Hawthorne , here we come!!!

Got home around 7:30 last night. I'll second Kurt's words on 162...amazing. Also sorry for missing goodbyes to multiple folks. I was just following the guy in the yellow jacket, and didn't realize people were splitting off.

Much thanks to Tom, Kurt, and everyone else for another great ride. And also to the many CHP I passed and never got a chance to say hello to. :thumbup

Oregon Hill was a laugh riot! :laughing Yeah, I'm not even sore at all, except my face from laughing!

It'll be awhile, prolly the middle of June if we're lucky? If winter ever f'in ends!
I think whoever told you 162 was open to Bucks lake, was coming from the other direction. When Pete & I ran it last year, (We got up father than you, we got past the "guardrail" section. :chuci ) a charming ranger we spoke with, told us they plow from Quincy west. And I believe him.
Up La Porte, and down 162? I did that last year, and it is a lot of slab'in.

I don't know, but there were tire tracks going through snow past where we stopped. Certainly cars had gone further. :dunno

ya ive never seen this many 50 in one weekend in my life!

alright...which BARFER tipped them off?

also if you told them to just give us warnings ...well....

thanks! :shhh

I think another informal Quincy Rally in June maybe? The Gold Pan Motel deserves more of our business. :thumbup
I only logged a total of 568 miles but I left Cordelia at 3PM Friday so no shame.
LOVED riding with you all!

Totally agree with you regarding the Gold Pan. Tom scored in selecting that place. :thumbup

As for a reprise, maybe June, or maybe August (better chance the full road may be repaired by then, saving us the Bald Rock detour). Maybe we should consider just an overnighter. Makes it easier for folks to participate. :ride

Bwa-hahaha! It looked smooth on the map... :loco ................................I told you in LaPotre (while shivering) "you may not want to follow me again after today." :laughing

Meh.....The "chill" pace was fun, and as I told Kurt "I'm not lost, I'm wandering" :laughing

BTW, Chill needs some kind of award for "risk management", on sat Kyle spotted a nail in Chill's rear tire, once we detemined we had the resources to plug/inflate the tire we just spit on it (check for leak- none found) and checked tire pressure (good), then kept checking during the trip.........and he made it home ok :thumbup

Something we advise our renters to do on every long ride. DO NOT PULL OUT NAIL AND ATTEMPT TO PLUG IF HOLDING PRESSURE!!!! We include plug kits but why of why would you take the chance of getting stuck? Good on you guys for using yer brains :thumbup

+1, where/when do I sign up?! :thumbup :party

I left somewhat early yesterday, like a thief, and without saying good-byes and thanks. Sorry. I rode to Truckee, S Lake Tahoe, Jackson, etc, SF. Got home at 4pm. I think riding alone took the edge off the po-po. They left me alone.

Mike, thanks for talking me into bundling up from the get-go. Todd, thanks for the gloves. I'll call you tomorrow. Brian, thanks for sharing the room.

Cheers,

Marc.

Fun fun :ride

Tom thanks so for making it happen with Kurt helping all the way :thumbup

Two awesome days is better than none
Lots of good peeps...lots of good roads and lots of fun!

:Port

a perfect adventure on this barf rally. being the holdouts we are, we collected all the alcohol from barfers bolting out of the hotel, and decided to transport it to our next post. :teeth

we made our way down 70, and zig zagged the valley, to Willows and Casa Ramos for a righteous Mexican meal. down the IH-5 to hwy 20 and over to ClearLake with the temps dropping a bit. My urge to NOT make any reservations for this evening turned out for the best, when I saw this place in ClearLake. cheap, remodeled place on the lake, run by a crazy awesome asian lady who almost took everyone out in the parking lot flying in to register us. :laughing long story. "Jules Resort", 14195 Lakeshore Dr, in Clearlake. awesome, reasonably priced cottages. :thumbup

I'll let this pic summize the rest.....
(we just got in, and it's sunny and warm in SF.)
