"Offending Yamaha Dealer"

Just so everyone knows, I didn't hear the show.

While I appreciate a good forced apology, I don't think it changes cager attitudes or makes any difference to anyone who isn't a rider. It will not be sincere and it will make riders sound like a bunch of whiney bitches to people who don't understand the real dangers of not being aware of riders around them.

I would pull my advertising dollars. I would encourage Bay Area Yamaha to do so as well. Any serious rider who has heard about this will not be listening to Live 105 anymore, so they have pretty much lost the listeners you are advertising to. The damage has been done.

BTW, you won't catch me listening to Live 105 again. It's off my presets and I'm installing my satelite system this weekend.

Big props to Bay Area Yamaha for their quick response.

I bought my bike there, and have had it serviced there, and have always been happy with them.

Just another reason to give them business.

Now that the damage has been done and Advertiser involved with getting an apology.....Lets hope no one has or hasn't gotten hurt or even killed by a cager opening their door while a motorcyclist splits lanes today or the days to come.

If someone does get hurt...contact the police of course and get an attorney to sue for everything.

If we need to boycott and show up to the radio station...i'm down.

We need the news involved....calling channel 2 news.

Ok, if we as riders show at the radio station to boycott them KTVU News will cover it....

Who's down....? I am also sending the 2 posts links to Mark of KTVU News to read...

Outstanding!!!

Great Response Bay Area Yammie!!:cool

Anyways, what was the news or broadcast?

It was about Chuck Norris inventing the Internet.

Sheesh, try and keep up...............:laughing

We're getting too many threads related to this topic, is there any way to merge them all?

:later

Dan -

I'm sure everyone here would echo my words in saying thank you for taking quick action. We know and understand that you did not have any knowledge or control of the AM show's content.

However, I would urge you to pull your advertising dollars unless the hosts go beyond a simple and quick on air apology. The damage done will not be unwound in such a fashion.

The radio show should -

1. Take the hosts responsible off the air permanently

2. Devote their next morning show to the legality and benefits of lane sharing while commuting on a motorcycle

3. Provide significant airtime each morning promoting rider awareness including lane sharing during the commute hours

A simple on air apology will not suffice. It takes far more counter act the stupidity of their publicity this morning.

While we dont hold you and your company responsible for the content of today's show, it would look poor if your company continued to support 105 without the station taking significant actions in support of and the promotion of rider awareness.

I believe that everyone here who commutes on a daily basis like myself would agree.

Thank you,

CJ

This absolutely makes more sense than some stupid "I am sorry about that...hey lets listen to some music!"

Big kudos to Bay Area Yami for opening a quick can of whoopass on this. :thumbup

I agree that it was good Bay Area Yamaha got involved but I don't see where any whoopass has taken place. They shouldn't sponsor that station anymore as long as they do not fire those 3 assholes. That would be whoopass.

Just my .02.

Just so everyone in this thread knows, the owner of Bay Area Yamaha will be a guest on Live 105 tomorrow.

Take my comments below as you will, keep in mind I'm a cynical person who pretty much thinks everyone is out for themselves...

I find this arrangement to be a major conflict of intrest. No matter what gets discussed tomorrow Bay Area Yamaha is getting a ton of free advertising out of the whole deal, the DJs don't seem to be being reprimanded for encouraging violence, and the radio station is not financially impacted in any way.

How do you guys feel? I'm thinking now more than ever that these idiots need to be taken off the air before they hurt somebody. Especially now that I've heard that abortion of a clip.

Oh she's a keeper type, she's hotter than you think, and she's sharp and intelligent, not to mention she's most likely better rider than most of us.

About Bay Area Yamaha, I've seen dealerships come and go in the peninsula.
It was refreshing to see good people operating a dealership, there is a thread here about why people hate dealerships, when I read it, I found it interesting how reality differs from most people's perceptions.

Bay Area Yamaha rocks, and I for one am supporting them.
