Some folks like the MotoGP-style tail shot, and with GoPro's wider angle lens, the result is better than the ContourHD. Here, compare:

correct me if i'm wrong, but gopro is waterproof so u can go into the ocean with it?
Waterproof to 180’ / 60m and protected from rocks and other hazards thanks to its removable polycarbonate housing.

Anyone have some video editing software that they like besides movie maker?
I've heard that some will autocorrect for optimum color/saturation such as Nero 9.
the GoPro includes the case and several mounts in the package.RE: Waterproofing. Vholdr also sells a waterproof case for their ContourHD units, which just like the cases for GoPro's, can also work as a protective shell overall. It even includes a standard 1/4"-20 mount for tripod/clamp mounts.

RE: the colors, I've heard that the primary video pros/cons is the GoPro handles vibration better but the Vholdr has better colors.
As for waterproof, the Vholdr is not from the factory. A case is available as was mentioned, good to 30 feet. However, there is a 3rd party case available that is good to 300 feet so if you plan on doing any deep diving (as I do) that's somewhat of a win for the Vholdr. On the flip side, the GoPro can go deeper, cheaper- the 300foot case is $300, so if you only need the 180foot depth of the GoPro, that'll get you underwater for less.
I'll a couple of things-
first, yes the GoPro is waterproof but because the lens and the housing are both domed this creates a very soft image, as if it's out of focus. Several of my friends have tested the camera underwater, and we've exchanged e-mail with GoPro about the issue. They acknlowledge the problem but have no plans to come up with a different housing or lens port to correct it. So, while the camera may not leak underwater, you likely won't be satisfied with any video you'll get from it underwater.
Second- it seems to me that GoPro promise a lot of stuff but chronically underdeliver. The instructions that come with the HD mention a firmware upgrade to allow upside-down recording, so when I bought the camera I went to the website to download the firmware upgrade... nada. I e-mailed GoPro, who assured me that the firmware upgrade was coming "shortly". This was over 6 months ago. They've also been touting add-on backs with LCD screens and the ability to hardwire power to the camera for a long time- this is all still vaporware at this point also.
So, as great as the camera is, I wish they'd actually follow through on some of the stuff they say they're going to do.

i find it too wide at times. there's only 1 setting @ 120deg, rest are at 170 or something. too bad the 60fps isn't at 120deg
this is at 120

Where did you mount the camera?
I just used one of the screw holes on the fender. It's a fun view watching the suspension work.
