2014 Honda CBR1000RR SP

Looks just as nice as it did in 2008, yeah getting long in the tooth but I've never rode one so maybe they got this design right 7yrs ago.

I have never ridden a 'Blade, but I have heard that they are incredibly well-balanced and handle beautifully. This new model, I imagine, is a further refinement of the platform. Dated, true, but it still seems like a great bike to me.

There is a type of rider, the more pure rider perhaps, that prefers a bike like this that is more pure itself to one with all the complex electronic gobbledy-gook on it. I'd love to take one for a spin and see what it's like.

They do. My '08 made me a more graceful rider than I already was. :p Srsly though, it was a typical Honda...just get on it and go. It did everything competently, not outstanding in any one particular way.

Ah but does it make you tingle like an R1

Seeing that I've had 3 past R1's to compare it to, I'll put it this way:

My 1999 R1 was more visceral and raw (kind of like my '06 G1K).

The 2002 R1 was the most similar. It had a certain Honda "blandness" to it, lol.

My 2004 R1 (still the sexiest bike I've ever owned hands-down), had a serious lack of midrange compared to the CBR. Around 10,000rpm things were reversed; it took off and rocketed to redline while the Honda, hamstrung by US restrictions, signs off at that point. You can claw back some of that top end with a Bazzaz Z-Bomb or ECU reflash though. :eboy

None of the Yamahas had a prodigious thirst for oil like my CBR did, though. :(

You still have the GSXR too?

I thought you had a new bike? Didnt you get a multi?

Sheesh, you're a hoarder.

MSRP is going to be $16,699.00..........from what I can tell at this point.
