2024 Formula 1 thread ***spoilers***

Ricciardo within striking distance of Ricciardo in the points standings but he has certainly under performed thus far.

I was expecting more to be honest.

Does it seem like every time a high-profile driver switches factories the new factory loses pace and their old factory find something? I won't be surprised if Lewis hates it at Ferrari.

When the RB is no longer the dominant car, will Verstappen revert back to his old tactics?

I'd vote that he will, his action against Norris being my basis.

RB appears to have lost pace, but I wouldn't say it's not still the dominant combination with Max/ RB. It just may not be AS dominant...but still out paces the field on average.

You kinda sound like you're speaking from experience, Berto.

Old man tricks. Kaleb Dekyrel 2019. What a fun and brutal year. Kaleb and I ran around nose to tail the whole season and I managed to stay ahead in every race with him (if I didn't crash). He went back to Moto America the next year; won twins class championship, then won races in the super stock class. Feels good to battle and beat great riders (and people) like Kaleb. Cleanest racer I've raced and a good friend. Weird how racing produces friends that are near 30 years apart and it doesn't seem like that...till I have to pull old man tricks out of the hat.

He didn't do anything of the sort against Norris during the British GP. Not defending Max. I'm no means a Max or RB fan.

His driving tactics in Austria violated the regs as shown by the penalty. And by Silverstone, the stewards said they should have given a warning or penalty sooner to help prevent the crash - meaning his driving in earlier laps also violated the regs. The announcers talked about it in one of the FPs.

Next race is in Hungary where Perez came in third last year.

He'd better do at least as well this year.

Magnussen out at Haas...no doubt Hulk has outperformed him.

I guess F2 driver Bearman taking the seat?

Definitely a lot of support for Ralf, good for them, let people make their own choices for their happiness.

Very cool to see McLaren having the combo of two good drivers and finally a car that seems to be objectively faster than the rest of the field.

Perez is working hard to get out of his contact early, perhaps an opportunity for Ricardo or Tsunoda?

Red Bull is going too have to do something if they want to feel comfortable in the constructors points race. Max is doing his part, but they really need to pick up someone else who is at least a medium tier driver.

Unless Perez battles back to the podium which is highly unlikely I think he's toast.

Petulant manchild is showing himself every race now that he doesn't have a vastly superior car.

That was a childish perception to not want to give back the place after gaining an advantage going off the track. The FIA still seems to be hesitant to penalize him for his actions, they need to do something soon or he's going to cause a serious crash.

Anybody else think that the FIA kept some of their Golden Childs radio messages off the air?

A Papaya 1-2, but no one seemed that happy about it... :laughing

I wonder what Senna would have done with those "Team Orders"....

Max just seemed cranky all weekend.

Perhaps he doesn't like having others on even footing. :laughing

Kind of funny to hear Max whining about Hamilton not going straight (off the track) when he couldn't finish his lunge and would have gone off the road, but hey, he got his nose ahead so everybody else has to make way for Max. The guy simply cannot admit that he has a double standard in what he should be able to do and what others should do.

GP needs to stop feeding Max’s bullshit. “We’ve seen the replays. Give the spot back” might have been helpful. But all the fuel for the fire sure is entertaining :laughing

I wonder… if Lando had let Piastri by immediately, would McLaren let them race later on? I gotta imagine they would have, so Lando could (would) have won with a pass on track. Instead, Lando had to be told many times to follow orders. Oh wells.

Good race. Some passing. Plenty of drama. 4 stars.

Great race, Lando did the right thing, Verstappen NO PENALTY.

Beyond ridiculous.

Hamilton, 200th podium.

Congrats to McLaren.

I hope they overtake RB.
