2025 F1 Season (spoilers will be discussed no doubt starting on March 16th)

Perhaps we need a betting pool for how long Yuki lasts....
Who would they replace him with now? Hadjar is nowhere near ready and would be career suicide if he were to take that seat this season.

They know Yuki is experienced and should do a decent job. So, if he does not perform, hopefully, Red Bull will finally come to the reality that it is the car and nobody (other than Max) can do decent in their car.

I am more interested to see how Liam does in the RacingBulls. He already has experience in those cars. If he does well and Yuki does poorly, then it will prove beyond a doubt (as we already know) that the RedBull car is way too edgy.

Any possibility that Perez would get called back? Of course, that would mean that they have to admit they made a mistake. :laughing

I think Yuki will do a hair better than Perez but won't be the best number two driver in the top four by a long shot.

I doubt he'll be batter than Antonelli.

Piastri is number 4 in the standings at the moment, Antonelli 5th.

Yuki is currently 13th.

Last year he finished 10th with 80 points, Perez was 8th with 152...Piastri was 4th with 292.

Yuki was driving a car that is more driveable for anybody besides Max.

I don't think that Lawson was nearly as bad as he looked in the RB car.

This was probably the hardest start in recent years for all the rookies. Testing was at a track that wasn't the first round. The first round had a wet race with no wet practice. The second round was a sprint with its minimal practice. The poor drivability of the RB made all that even more impactful to Liam's performances.

Yuki's low point total is mostly VCARB's fault with their (in hindsight) terrible strategy calls.

This will likely be the most interesting season in F1 in years.

And it won't be limited to what happens on track, IMHO.

I don't see Danni Ric coming back, but if Yuki's replaced I see that as a possibility.

I think that Ricardo would be the only choice if they decide to sac Yuki (I doubt this happening as Yuki is very much backed by Honda and Honda is Red Bull's current engine supplier). Ricardo would have nothing to loose so he might take the chance. Anybody else, would be seriously risking their career. If this happens (highly unlikely for this year), where would Yuki go? If back to RacingBulls, then who would loose their seat?

Now, if Yuki does terrible in the Red Bull, then they could drop him next year since Honda will not be the engine supplier for Red Bull.

Interesting analysis. Maybe Ric goes into Yuki's seat, but I highly doubt that will happen. Who's whispered as next in line for the RB support team?

Ayumu Iwasa is next in line. He's a VCARB test driver, is leading SuperFormula, and drove the RB at the AbuDhabi test last year.

But once Honda support goes away, I have no idea who's next.

Anybody else think that this thread is going to be very active, this season?

I'm looking forward to seeing how this season evolves, it should be very entertaining on every level.

Then the Drive to Survive should be epic, as well.

Ummm....from what I quickly read (so I could be wrong), Senior Stroll is purchasing more stake in the company. So, I would say that Lance is not going anywhere

I wish my dad would buy me a race team.

And buy me a 2x world championship mentor.

But nooooooo. All I got from him is a receding hair line and a predisposition for the beetus
