600's Vs. Litre Bikes.

You can't fade Super Greg's unibrow, it is also NUMBA ONE! This is an example of the sexiness it exudes, here is an Uzbeki broad that can't get enough of my testosterone.

To me a bike must meet three requirements:
1. It must have enough horsies to safely perform passing manuevers for the weight of the bike plus the rider. I'm 200 pounds so that leans toward a bigger bike.
2. It must have excellent brakes. The bigger bikes tend to cost more, and tend to have better stock components, such as brakes.
3. It must be stable at street speeds. On the average the smaller bikes have shorter rake and trail than the bigger ones.

I have an FZ-1 which is an old man's litre bike and its the best bike I've owned.

On the other hand, my next bike (keeping the FZ-1) will probably be something like an F4 for three reasons:
1. My wife used to ride an F2 so I can say I bought it for her for christmas.
2. Since it's only 600ccs I'll tell her that when I ride it for her there's no way I can go really fast on it.
3. I'll remind her that the insurance (by comparison) is so cheap that it's practically an investment.

Having said that if I were not married I would plunk for a GSXR750 which may well be the best compromise, and sufficiently different from what I already have.

i must be riding wrong cause my TLR powerband feels almost like my 600. only towards the top do i get decent power. then again, i'm mostly doing trackdays on this thing...i'll probably go up a couple teeth in the rear and see how that goes. i rarely even hit 6th other than on the freeway anyway.

oh ya, i bought the TLR cause everytime i look at it in pics, i drool and subsequently wet myself. and the 1 i have i bought cheap :thumbup

if i had to do it again? probably a 600 out of state or something cause my ass is sore from the job they gave me at golden rape cycles. :mad

I went with the 600 over the liter because of the power! I like a lot of power and to get it on a 600, you have to really wring it out and shift all over the gear box, so obviously a 600 is better.

:confused :confused :confused

I must be missing the "obvious" reason. Yes, it takes more work to get the power out of a 600, but I'm just curious at to why having to wring it out makes it better than a liter bike.

From what I remember, some 750 riders can't turn to their left... :angel

A lot of people feel that they are faster on the litre bikes due to the "Point and Shoot" method of riding on the street. The 600's require much more finesse, a lot more entry and corner speed and they need to carry that momentum all the way through to the next corner.

I see a lot of guys on Litre bikes park the bike mid corner, stand it up and give it full throttle. Their entry and mid corner speed sucks. So do the excuses that go with it.

I feel this as quite the opposite. The 600 is really the only bike you can point and shoot. The liter bikes are much more hulky and harder to throw around, thus causing you to have to be more fluid in the turns. as far as entry speed, I think its the same on a liter bike or a 600. The RPM's and gearing have an effect on the 600 that can make it similar to a liter bike. the 600's work way harder. But, then again you can't compare street riders to track riders. its totally different. You have to really worry about being safe on the street. the liter bikes are harder to stop. unless you got a 954. :hand

Point and shoot means, braking hard, sacrficing entry and mid corner speed, getting the bike turned, standing it up and nailing the gas. You will be very SLOW if you do this on a 600.

The liter bikes are much more hulky and harder to throw around, thus causing you to have to be more fluid in the turns.

The litre bikes need to manhandled due to their extra torque and engine braking where as every slight movement on a 600 equates to a drastic input.

as far as entry speed, I think its the same on a liter bike or a 600.

NO!!! The 600's can carry a lot more Entry and mid corner speed than the Litre bikes, thus the reason that 600 are very close to the Litre bikes on tight tracks.

My mistake I thought point and shoot meant "ease of riding", goes where you point it. and Yes I agree with your, bad riding techniques will slow you down.

Yes I agree, manhandling the liter bikes makes them not that easy as a 600 to control.

Yes again I agree, the 600's are actually pulling faster lap times than the formula extreme bikes. uhh. no, i'm wrong the 750's and 1000 twins are faster... but the 600's running in superstock are close.

What the fuck does it take for you guys to understand that the GSX-R1000 has been shown to be the fastest (lap times) box stock bike?

Liter bikes vs 600??? the line has been infinitely blurred.

Liter bikes are no longer "pigs" or "heavy".

600's are not faster. period.

Like, on a date?

If you set a date, make it on a track (ie legal) so you can safely post the date and we can all come watch! :thumbup

Nah your G1k is overweight. Granted if it was an R1 I might consider......

Those R1's...they are great dates. Lots and lots go down!
