I don't think Jesus would be into motorcycles. He didn't do stuff for fun or laugh. He mainly enjoys being worshipped, and the smell of burnt animals.

Do you guys do ATGATT?

If you don't want people talking about religion when trying to discuss your MC, try dissociating it from religion. You can do good deeds without it! :thumbup

The issue is, it comes across as a "I know better than you so listen to what I say" arrogant statement when people start talking down to, or flaming, people who are religious.

Dude, it's Christianity. It's not arrogant to believe the world is round. It's not arrogant to point out that religion is bunk.

(By the way: if you say you're Christian, then you're also saying you believe Islam and 50 other religions are bunk! How arrogantly offensive! :teeth)

to be perfectly honest, I do not know the procedure. I CAN tell you, its one of those "need to know" things that I won't be posting on an open forum.

I realize it sounds silly to those of us who aren't in the 1%'r lifestyle, but trust me its real.

anyone who doesn't understand the 1% thing, read this.

THAT is the main focus of the ministries efforts. Just to be a source of light to these men and women.

Fair enough answer, I get the drift of things :thumbup

honestly, no I am no ATGATT. when I ride in the hills I wear my full gear (2 piece leathers, full face Kali protective helmet, Daytona boots, Cortech gauntlets).

when I am putting around town and sometimes to work, I will ride in my jeans and sneakers. (never without my full helm jacket vest and gloves though)

I attached a pic of my trackday last year, thats my gear.

my brothers on their harley's, well, they ride in donor caps and sweatshirts (despite my objection), but just as its YOUR preference to ride how you like, I can't make them ride thank what they like.

Religion is not the point here. I am a man of faith, not religion.

You have every right (God given and man) to choose your own faith (or lack of it) and I will support that. (former USAF and believer in freedom). Just don't think I won't exercise MY right to speak how I want to.

No problem man and thanks for your service. If you put yourself out there expect to see some flak! It's not really personal and religious people shouldn't take it that way.

Just curious as to who you had to get approval from to wear three patches and how the process goes.

I've been told that you need to ask Red and White to wear a rocker.

Rimmy, do you guys consider yourselves, 1%ers? You mentioned them.

Don't crowd mah gig, yo. :x

OP, never heard of your MC, never seen the patch.
The only MC members I've come across that I really enjoyed hanging out with are the Vampires. Throw MC and religion together, Ima run screaming.

Also, you're not representing so well here... humorless and snarky isn't exactly the way to warm fuzzies. Jes' sayin'.
:thumbup:thumbup

Yeah I have not heard of this MC except for this thread.. so my impression is....... ummmmmmm :|

but if you guys are out there helping people do whatever you don't need validation from us.:thumbup

We do not consider ourselves to be 1%'ers. We do follow the guidelines of "outlaw" clubs, as it allows us to minister to them, on their ground, when we are invited. otherwise, no.

My opinion is it's another example of religion trying to be cool. The moto equivalent of Stryper?

:laughing

I dont like big banks but I love my bank
I dont like police but I love the good police officers esp those in my family
I dont like religion but I respect those that Love and try their best to be good people.

The organizations can suck, the people don't.

So, even if you get some hate here, keep on helping, God, Karma, or Noodly Monster has your back.

Well stated, sir.

I'm just a run of the mill, garden variety godless heathen. That said, I have no problem with religion, provided that it isn't being rammed down my throat. I've never heard of your club, but if you are out there helping riders on the roadside, I take my hat off to you. If a bunch of fans of the tooth fairy started a club and were out helping riders who have crashed, broken down, etc. I would be all for it. Riding bikes is what unites us; why look for reasons to divide us? :dunno

its not really validation I am seeking, its just more like this:

the organization exists to be a silent witness of Jesus Christ. In order to do that, we need to be out, seen, and willing.

if you haven't heard of us at all, then that is a clear indicator to us that we aren't reaching out far enough.

We're in the process of getting a tow truck (flatbed) up and ready as a free of charge recovery vehicle, and we're also trying to setup some "on the spot" kind of remedies that people might need.

there is no payment for anything we offer. there is no commitment for anything we offer. we do have one requirement: that you accept the gift, as a gift and nothing more.

We are not accepting donations for any of the things we are doing out on the roads. however a wise person once told me never argue with a man that insists. (if it means that much to someone, we will not offend. has happened before)

If anyone wants to support our efforts, i'll be throwing up some fund raising events in the future, again, no requirement or obligation.

I'm as serious as it gets when I say I JUST want to keep people out on the roads as safe as possible, happy as possible, and if I get even one chance to spread the gospel, then my requirement is fulfilled.

Some of you may notice I keep saying "I". Tthis is because I was given charge to break free from the conventional harley MC style we have, and expand to the sportbike realm, where riders are different (for one, they ride). I have only 3 other people dedicated to helping me with this cause, and you'll see us in pairs at the minimum.

I am hoping by next year to have a small shop setup that we can host some events with, do some ride clinics, do some maintenance days etc etc. but that will all take time.

How am I paying for this? simple. out of my own pocket, or donations from others.

no secrets, full disclosure (that I have access too anyway).

If anyone would be interested in joining us, please talk to me.

also well stated sir.

We aren't looking for a reason to divide. I simply choose to believe that God does exist, and he wants us to play nice. When we play nice, it makes God happy, and it helps everyone out.

Eh, Jesus was all right. He was into loving your neighbor and helping the poor and all that other liberal hippie crap. Sure, he had his low moments, but who among us hasn't gotten pissed off at a fig tree?

my sense of humor is rather dry to begin with so i'm not sure it made its way across any of these posts. I was being completely genuine when I said thank you to people, but after re-reading, it does come off sounding snarky. not my intent, but that's hard to put into text.

:thumbup

I believe but don't believe in any organized religion.

With that said, ANYTHING that takes a person who led a less than stellar life and changes them for the better I support. I don't really care what they grasp onto but if it makes them a better person and a more productive member of society then by all means go for it.

The thing with religion is that yes it may not be true, may be a fable, may be fake as hell but really in the end it does make good people usually. Most of those so called fanatics will JUMP to help their fellow man. I can't say as much about the so called intellectuals that I have run across in my life. Most of those usually could care less about anyone but themselves and would rather scoff or talk down too their fellow man than help them out (not all mind you). Now there are the crazy extremist that take religion way to far and I'm not speaking of them as I don't believe people should push or force their beliefs on others in ether context.

Ministries are usually groups of people who lived once again a not so stellar life. In their attempt to do right they turn to god which makes them a much better person no matter if their god is real or not. They then try to help others as much as they can. I'm sorry but I don't see this as a bad thing no matter what I believe. My neighbor is in a youth ministry he spent time in prison for selling drugs (large scale dealer) and found god. No matter if his god is real or not he is a MUCH better person now than he was for sure. So real or not, it does some people a lot of good to have faith.

Simply put, there is NOTHING wrong in believing in something that in the end helps you live a happier life and be a more productive member of society with some type of morals and compassion for your fellow man.

About this MC group in question - Never heard of you guys but by all means keep up the effort as you by far do more good than harm.

I have no interest in bible thumping a poor soul on the side of the road. simply being a source of comfort or aide is ministry enough.

I am going to take the more silent witness approach. There is absolutely no sense in beating people over the head. good deeds are good deeds and are almost always accepted.

Anyone that knows me, ask them.

I hope to start seeing you all on the highways and by ways. If you see us on your regular rides, say hello, pop a wheelie, or gimme the Barf salute :shocker. everything works.

I can't say we'd ever be best friends, but I certainly respect what you're doing. I don't personally get the drive behind religion (though I respect the rights of those that do), but I certainly understand wanting to help people that need real-world physical aid; and if that is really your MC's goal, then good on you. Your motives behind this thread were shady for a bit, and I guess your tone didn't come across, but you navigated the flame-maze pretty well, and I think you've made your point in this post. Good luck, and I look forward to seeing you on the road sometime!

i was down in the monterey area back in may. saw a few at a small kite festival in marina. they were standing there. i assume enjoying the kites.

That would likely be our Salinas chapter. a Very cool group of guys. (IMHO) they ride out to a lot of local events in the area. just to support the events, and to get out and ride. pretty hard to argue with both.

Just add your name to Connie's list. It does a wonderful job. Candidly speaking.
