Tim/Rimmy,

We talked about it a little at the newbie ride a few months ago, I'll expand here. If you want to be an outreach to riders, you have to go where riders are. I've been riding for seven years now, and I've never - and I mean never - seen any patched club riding the twisties.

In person, you said that most club rides are on highways. Fine, for those that want it. But if you want to reach the local crowd, you need to hit the backroads. That's where we all are.

Places I've personally seen patched riders:
I-5
101
85
580
All freeways. Yuck.

Pretty much this... and agreed.

No restriction on displacement?

Are woman allowed to join as full members in your MC?

No restriction on bikes what so ever.

Yes women can join.

The catch, is we are looking to recruit Christian relational based ministry people with a heart for servanthood and motorcycles. Interested parties inquire within.

I've only seen the Jesus riders at advertised events, such as booths at the annual mc show in San Mateo and the Easter bike blessing on Coleman Avenue in San Jose, plus once a couple riders showed up at STP.

What I said earlier, every one of them were nice guys (no women?) but clueless about the Bible. Scruffy looking bunch of guys, every one, also.

Except to me on our fourth of July trip we did right? 1200 miles of twisties.... Just saying. :)

I see what you did there... :laughing

Yup, I'm thinking that'll happen at Gabe's party at The Junction later this month, our twice-a-year rendezvous.

:love

Lex

Is that this month? Guess I better scoot over to Socials and get the details!

So I'm out of the Roadside Angel Contributor gig, since I have a hitch-carrier? :x

:twofinger

Well, you're special... :teeth

my candid opinion. I have usually had the type of reaction pictured below.....
with anything dealing with organized religion :teeth

I am a fan of people doing good deeds with no strings or evangelism attached.
You would be a good person whether you are attached to a religious organization or not.

clubs like the Vampires have pulled over and offered assistance to me. while i was stuck on the road trying to kick start a SRX.. they get a :thumbup
just for looking out for people.. no strings attached.

evangelism is all about showing God's love, through us, to others. i'm not asking you to accept that God did it, i'm asking you accept that I was inspired by God to want to help others. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evangelism)

by opening the door to communication, you are free to ask, dismiss, persecute, praise admonish or astonish by any means you wish. I am choosing to use my hobby as a tool to show people some grace.

take it or leave it, it is what it is.

I get personally offended when I see "christians" bible thumping people and shoving an idea down someones throat (or trying to). those are weak immature christians with the inability to think, read or study beyond what someone has regurgitated to them previously.

Christ has 2 commandments, and neither of them was "be a pompous ignorant self serving asshole".

interesting story you might like, I went to Vegas a while back for a job interview (free 4 day vacation to Vegas) and I brought my buddy scott. Scott's been a good friend for many years and has served in ministry with me for going on 8 years now. we stop at the bellagio to watch the water works. we see 4 "christians" with those big signs spouting hate and diharea all over the sidewalk. there is a crowd gathering and they're getting agitated. Scott and I listened to their dribble for about 20 minutes and I had enough. I looked at him, smiled and said "lets go talk to these fools." he laughed and we did.

after about 5 minutes of polite, quite discussion (publicly) we got 3 of them to put down their signs and go home. why? because the verses they were spouting were biblicly unfounded and taken COMPLETELY out of context.

the crowd cheered, and the one guy left standing, showed his true colors. he was there for himself to attract attention, not show anyone grace.

morale of the story? please don't think that all christisan's are like these morons. in much the same way, that not all motorcyclists are raving lunatics hell bent on killing themselves.... ok bad example.....

Two books highly recommended for those interested in the Bible, explaining both the OT and the NT, respectively, in historical terms: "The Bible Unearthed" and "Forged: Writing in the Name of God."

A major consideration for anyone's religion is the fact that, historically and currently, the vast majority of humanity has and does believe in something different. How can this be if each religion is the "one, true" religion? And especially, how can so many different Christian religions base their differing belief systems on the same source book? (No answer needed, this is a rhetorical question, I know the answer.)
