Abcde?

I have a friend in nyc that had a girlfriend whos name started with the letters Ab... something (dont remember exactly). She was about to graduate from college, and often told people that she was going to be called 1st at the ceremony. My friend ACTUALLY CHANGED HIS LAST NAME to Aabie secretly. He intentionally never mentioned it to her, and at graduation got called 1st!!! :laughing

Possibly the best burn ever...

I'm not opposed to non-traditional child names, but ABCDE strikes me as a shockingly lazy choice to name your child, regardless of how you would like others to pronounce it. I would have slightly more respect for the parents if they named their child 12345, but would expect the outcome to be equally sad.

Mom is looking to be a victim. At the child’s expense.

Beats Latrina.

She was a bed wetter.

I grew up with a kid named harry.

Harry oranges.

Funniest kid i knew

You'd have to develop a good sense of humor with a name like that.

Met a girl back in the early 80's whose name was Beejay.

That's awesome! :laughing

Remember the kid on the 80s sitcom Growing Pains who they called Boner? All with a straight face. Which is a worse nickname? Boner or Dick? :laughing

Mom is looking to be a victim. At the child’s expense.

Looks like it.

The Yahoo comments section never fails to deliver. The only reason to ever go there, really.

You guys captured my experience. I read the headline, clicked, and scrolled straight to the comments. Made my day slightly less shitty. Thanks internet!!!

The woman who cut my hair in college named her son Markeess. After her Mercury Markeess. I shit you not.

Do you really think the employee should lose her job and perhaps her ability to support herself and her family due to potentially single mistake?

No, if you read the article this employee has done similar on multiple other occasions. Disclosing customers personal info on your social media site isn't cool. Doing it multiple times should result in termination.

I knew two guys in college with horrible names. BJ Gurel, he was one of my fraternity brothers. No one teased BJ, he was a big tough guy. But despite his toughness he was super cool, and extremely nice to everyone around him.

The second guy was Richard Topping. I didn't know Richard very well, but he wasn't very well liked.

I went to school with a girl named Teflonda

I work with a guy named Redeemer

people are odd.

I went to school with a lot of kids with non-traditional-American names; Czech, Italian, Polish, Irish, et cetera. I never gave it much thought, and didn't understand people who did.

Yeah but, did you go to school with anyone who's parents took their native language and bastardized it into an unpronounceable nonsense "word?" That is where the backlash to "abcde" comes from IMHO.
