ah but you had to click on this link. actively seaking out complaints about HD. I'll bet you have never had someone yelling at the top of their lungs outside your bedroom window at 2:00am about how much they dislike the noise HD bikes make. perhaps if you did you may be inclined to dislike that person. perhaps even complain about them to others.

No not about Harley's but I have about barking dogs, cats walking on cars and leaving prints, and loud cars.

I came to this thread not to be annoyed by HD bashing, but to offer my thoughts in defense of what I assumed would become HD bashing.

When I see something that irritates me, It makes sense to try and do something about it instead of ignore it :)

Harley complaining doesn't make sense to me, so, in saying so, I hope to lessen it. If anything loud and obnoxious was going on outside my window, I would yell "stop that noise!" not "You Harley douchebag!" :)

My bike isn't exactly stealth quiet so I get mad about the inconsiderateness, not the machine and the lifestyle.
 
I set off a car alarm with my e-penor enhancement (badass VTR street fighter) the other day, and I shit you not I almost crashed into the f'n coffee shop on the corner. Then I got pissed at the ass-hat with the car alarm, never once taking responsibility for my own loud pipes. Now if that is not self absorbed squidliness, I don't know what is!
I will be there Friday night, ready to rock!
 
I like HD's! I just don"t like some of the people who ride them and who look at you like you are inferior. Sucks cause I know some people who ride them might/could be some of the coolest/nicest people but the overall population of Harley riders decided they wanted to be known as bullies and there is nothing I can do to change my mind on that since they still continue to be pricks to the sport bike riders or should I say the non HD riders

actually, it happens with every brand and their fanboiz...

what cracks me up are absolute n00bs who have no idea what theyre talking about glamourize a brand even if they don't ride only cuz they were told by another n00b that the bike they own "is the best"..

it's all in good fun ribbing on teh BARF and shouldn't carry over to meatspace...

I dont mind sharing my opinion and I dont mind others but sometimes you gotta be realistic and admit the good and the flaws on other M/C communities

My problem with the harley hating crowd is it seems when you call them out they either point out the 1 or 2 real douchebags they have experience with that own harleys, ./ignore your comments and carry on with their silly antics, or cry foul and blame you for being a bully. I mean how can we have a constructive conversation under these conditions?!

you and brown. go look up quarter mile times for worked sportster 1200s and compare to a stock gs500. now realize that the gs500 has better cornering clearance and is much lighter so it can have much higher cornering speeds.

finally, look up lap times for the AMAs now defunct sportster series and compare to 500p.

why are you even trying to justify a HD from a performance perspective? did you eat paint chips as a kid?

On a side note I put 450 miles on my heavy, slow, unreliable, overpriced image-machine this weekend... and I like this thing more than any bike I've ever owned prior....

im waiting to buy an HD in july as I build my down payment

i just rode to tahoe this last weekend with a bunch of lumbering 1940's tech machines and i can't wait to buy mine :)
