All the sh!t talk about Harley Davidison

I don't get it, how is a harley more real than a night hawk? Does it exist extra dimensional on different planes of reality?

a nighthawk is a ujm, not a cruiser

The spec in that series was the 883 Sportster, not the 1200.

Yep. That's the prime reason the racing was so sedate. That and the abysmal lack of cornering clearance. I remember watching the corner workers and the crowd during the race, and I'd never seen so many people laughing and chuckling. Every time a bike went through 3 and 4, you'd hear a horrendous "CRUNCH" and scraping sound and you got ready to jump into action, fully expecting a crash. And more than a few did. I think they may have allowed some changes in the later years to reposition the muffler.

anything short of an XR1200 is gonna get smoked around a track by a GS500
I would gladly take that bet. Just tell me where and when.

A sportster will most likely blow the doors off your GS500 and smoke it in every way. Not too mention a VRod.
I like this guy^
Bottom line is that there are so many different bikes out there because there are so many different types of people that like or want to ride motorcycles. Why does it matter to so many whether or not someone they don't even fucking know, likes or dislikes their motor choice? Your bike, your money, shut the fuck up and just ride your ride

I agree. I am far more irritated by people complaining about Harley Davidsons than I will ever be by the bikes themselves.

I'd estimate that 99% of the people who hate them have never really ridden one.:rolleyes

Maybe when I'm ready for a 'real' bike, I'll give them a shot. :rolleyes

It's a shame people need to shove their misguided and uninformed judgmental views on others.

Sure would be easier if we all just got along and let folks have their own opinions without pissing on them.

but...what fun would that be. :(

Here's one for y'all, right now I'm debating whether to buy stan23's 2004 Ducati 999 or a 2001 Harley Dyna Low Rider.

Believe it or not it's a really tough choice.

Nice dyna Beauregard. You probably already know this but just in case.......

The lowrider obviously has less ground clearance than the other dyna's. More than many soft tails but that's why I have always gone w/ the other dyna's. Of couse you can always swap out the shocks if you find it a problem.

The one in your pic looks like a cross between my '01 and '07.

Yep.

I'm not a huge fan of the Low Rider, but to me it beats the crap out of the freak show Wideglide. And if I pick this one up, by the time it hits the street it will have little or no resemblance to its present form.

Here is my new scoot. Started off as a 1200 custom. Been slowly changing it up.

I have nothing constructive to add to this thread. So here is a pic of my bike.
