....and now Loius C.K

Porn industry: The one place where it's perfectly acceptable to segregate the workplace by gender, orientation, race, etc. :dunno

I mean there's entire companies built around one or the other, let alone various role playing acts, degradation, voyeurism / exhibitionism, rape, kidnapping, etc.

James Deen (sp?) was one of note that I recall us having a thread about in the Sink briefly, or at least he was mentioned.

I 'member. And it did cost him several movies and production companies and such IIRC.

Second, I really don't like the timing on these. For both Spacey and CK, companies took action before the whole story had come to light.

Not sure about CK, but I think Spacey's production company knew the whole story before you did.

They're going to have to release something a lot worse than the guy beating off in front in front of some willing spectator before I'm no longer a fan.
Louie is way funnier than porn.

I think in both cases, they know THAT a story was being published, and the basic contents of the story, but I don't think they the whole situation.

I never though Bill Cosby was funny
Did you ever listen to his early records from the 60's?

Maybe it's more funny if you grew up with a bunch of brothers, but it was funny.

Listen to 'Bill Cosby - to russell, my brother, whom i slept with (1968) [FULL ALBUM]' sometime, it's what made him famous, he did this before he started doing the things that we find repugnant and for which he should be in prison for now.

I think it's been coming to light that the casting couch isn't constrained to the porn industry.

To wit, I don't think the porn industry is ready to come clean on these issues yet, nor do I believe that most people are ready to accept the fact that porn stars can be victims of their workplace norms.

Most people see sex industry professionals as subhuman.
What do yo you know about the "porn industry?" What you have read?

Why don't you and I discuss it. We can compare our filmographies.

I like how you're attempting to turn this into consent when I'm asking if these women were able to leave.

Trying to vilify me. Classic move Tyler, classic.

You're doing a great job on your own there buddy. Not buddy.

Easy cowboy. I'll admit it isn't much - most of what I know comes from skimming reddit threads & the like & hearing stories from film editors & videographers on contract at Kink. The latter sounds like it offered some of the best workplace practices in the industry, though it still sounds like working there was a shitshow.

If you felt like sharing your knowledge, I'd be an interested audience.

I've worked with folks all over the Bay Area scene, shared meals and drinks with San Fernando and Florida outfits. Not the same ethos as Hollywood at all from what I have heard from crossover performers.

And I ain't no cowboy, just a reformed gangster. ;)

So the guys career is over and he's a social pariah even though the activities were consensual? All because the women didn't know how to say no at the time? I'm not justifying, but I'm baffled how anyone could defend themselves from such an accusation? Are we all going to need 50 shades of grey type contracts to interact anymore? The groupie comparison was spot on.

apparently consent isnt consent if u are someone's boss, or they look up to u, or who knows what else. honestly, if we are going to have exceptions to consent, we gotta agree on them, write them down, and stop making more. some ppl are going to get royal fucked because the exceptions are so fluid and unknown.

Fair. Most of what I wanted to bring up was the latter half of my original argument, that most people are plenty happy to turn a blind eye to the idea that sexual assault can exist in an industry where sex is part of the job function.

Heck, when Christy Mack got beaten within an inch of her life, people were all to happy to dismiss her case with "Eh, she takes it in the ass for money and married a guy named War Machine. What the fuck did she expect?"

Please find me any article stating that. I can link you the thread here on barf in which everyone said fuck war machine.

I’m still trying to figure out how whipping my dick out is sexual assault.

Go right ahead. You'll also be surfacing a handfull of posts in that thread saying that she knew exactly what she was in for when she married the dude. Also, there's a world outside of Barf. People have fucked up opinions about sex professionals.

Wait a minute...exactly how would a person audition for a porn without actually doing porn? How do you check to see if the person has “it”? The worst porn is when everyone is just going through the motions and the best is when it’s a turn on without even having to masturbate.

I worked for a relatively well known guy, that had women on the payroll that he would boink. I've known women that would screw taxi drivers for rides, drug dealers for dope, and the landlord to stay there for another week or whatever. It's pretty damn common trading ass for cash, jobs, places to stay, dope and rides. And plenty of other guys will do it, also. I guess by oldest profession, this is what they mean. How many of tye women willingly, gave it up for a part in a movie?
