my impression is that that’s pretty simply what most disadvantaged people are asking for. although i’m white - and have never experienced a race disadvantage, i have experienced other types (being a woman and not a member of the ‘boys club’, didn’t attend an elite school, etc.). early in my career was actually told after a presentation i made what ‘score’ they gave me - not on the material or my expertise - on my FUCKING LOOKS. they gave me a 7. when i got pissed, they were like - hey, it’s the highest score we’ve ever given, and you’re a real solid 7 - it’s a great score. fuckers were totally clueless about what pissed me off. it’s just been one long slog through-out my career to be taken seriously. and i’ll tell you what - i got to the point where it’s payback time. all those clueless motherfuckers are seriously fucked. i didn’t set out to become militant about it - but i damn sure am now. and i’ve got a mountain of grievances to unload on them. and the tools to do it with. have laid in wait a very long time for this.

think about it - that mountain of grievance. this is us taking our definition of responsibility. something tells me you’re not going to like it.

Her Blexit stuff was/is extremely disingenuous in hindsight when you see where she went after that. That was just the beginning of her craziness.

And like any corporation whose primary interest is to MAKE MONEY, will misapply studies and academic works. It does not mean critical race theory as a study or academic field is invalid.

Funny that you guys mention her. She randomly popped up in my YouTube recommendations not too long ago (the algorithm strikes again) and I watched this interview with her which I thoroughly enjoyed. She's well spoken and I believe intelligent. A lot of her reasoning is too simplistic for me. She gives very basic solutions for complex problems. Mostly laying the blame for all of Black Americas problems squarely at the feet of Black people. There's some merit to personal responsibility but it's like she weighs it in a vacuum. I can't fuck with it.

A lot of her act is being a "well spoken and intelligent" black woman who is woke and speaking 'truths' most black people would not say.

Yeah the bootstraps/personal responsibility argument is a panacea people like her use to hand wave away systemic problems. These people are maybe 3 to 4 questions away from their arguments being debunked.

Suffice to say you can act and behave in a personally responsible way AND accept that systemic issues exist.

I've heard multiple times from conservative black people that the only time they experienced real racism in America was from leftists who could not accept they had a mind of their own and didn't simply fell in line with progressive politics to see themselves as victims because of their skin color.

I don't care if the 'default left' use it as an insult. I am not part of the default left. If you're trying to have an honest conversation, then don't try to lump me into some group while you're defending other people you lump into a certain group.

And Candace Owens is still an Uncle Tom. I've already said earlier in this thread I don't toss around terms like that lightly and it has nothing to do with my affiliations.
