BARF Rallies 2024...!!!!

Not too sure about Hawthorn this year. Really hoping to make Weaverville.

I miss Hawthorne...

I realize there are two rallys between now and then, but is it time for the Hawthorne Rally thread yet?

Also speaking of Hawthorne, historically it was the weekend after labor day. This year its not. As a person that needs to block out time off for the year in January, is there some guideline or rhyme/reason i can apply to try and more accurately predict when my requested time off will land on the Friday and Monday of rally weekends?

I mean I could be a 4 rally per year, every year kind of person if i know when i have to say no and when I can say yes to meet my commitments with the people that sign my paycheck. :teeth

That was my F up. Sorry. Everyone that knows me knows my weak point is calendaring and the close proximately on the date had me just googly. I won't do that next year. Promise ;)

Cool. Ill hit you up in January before i map out the years vacations. :teeth

Just an FYI
Beginning September 4 at 6 am, U.S. 395 will fully close between Bridgeport and State Route 108 until September 19 to allow crews to install wildlife undercrossings within the Sonora Junction Shoulders Project.
The only available detours around the area will be:
- Northbound travelers can take State Route 182 from Bridgeport and connect with Nevada Route 338.
- Southbound travelers can connect with Nevada Route 208 at Holbrook Junction and take 338 south.
U.S. 395 through the communities of Bridgeport, Walker, Coleville, and Topaz will remain open throughout the closure. Access to State Route 108 (Sonora Pass) and State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) will not be impacted.

Well :flame:flame:flame:bs:flame:flame:flame that sucks. My birthday ride WAS going from Whoa Nelli Deli to Sonora Pass in that time frame. Need to look for a new route. May do the little dragon to Mariposa. :twofinger

Thanks for the info Veef. Is there a link to be had?? I am confused with Walker - Topaz being open.
Looks like 182 will get ya around to 95 to back door into Hawthorne, but if 395 is still open through Topaz etc we could jump on 208 to get to 95 and still have BBQ in Walker
Probably adds 80 miles, but have done it before. Not bad.

Well, it looks like that closure will push my group to the Highway 120 route. Although it's beautiful through Yosemite, the parade of RVs and heavy enforcement makes it a bit of a slog.

Well we have finished all 4 rallies with minimal hiccups except perhaps the Sweeping Winger Rally #fucktheplan.

Have to shout out mean dad as the ONLY barfer that made it to all four.
4 for 4 in '24!
:thumbup :ride

As part of my post ride moto hangover I have already started planning for '25.
Possible that we have a new destination or two next year. Rydther will remain in Hawthorne and The Hoho will remain in Weaverville, but we are considering adjusting the date out of the hot summer months. :dunno

I have a thread going in the Adventure Forum looking for input on destinations as I would like to be more considerate of what might fit their passion, but still offer awesome pavement. You can see a list of possible places in that thread.

Thanks to all that joined us this year.

Lets make 2025 rock! :ride
