BARF's Biggest Loser, Gainer Maintainers 2016Q4 Edition

now (9/7): 175
goal: 162

today (9/9): 173.

chipping away. the focus is there. working out and eating healthy most of the time is now a part of my life. the only part that miffs me a bit is continuing to not drink for 10 days a month. An arbitrary goal I kind of force myself to do, but it's for the best.

I'm feeling really good about myself, and am just dreaming about how it will feel to reach my goal.

Congrats!!!!!! You are on the good path! Don't dream about your goal. Make it real. Make it happen.
Regarding alcohol, good for you, that's for the best. Right now, I am on a no alcohol at all streak.

Eating healthy and Working out is a good lifestyle. I started this morning to commute on a bicycle (3.6miles each way) and I ll continue to go working out at lunch time 5times a week.

Seriously. Who hopes to get to 135 lbs? Gandhi? :wtf

I'm 5'7 bench in the 270lb range and weigh 145. I hope to be benching 300+ by the end of the year and doubt I am going to weigh much more than I currently do. If I was 160+ with my current BF/body makeup I would be a monster.
:laughing

So..... As it appears, several people on BARF are trying to lose weight. So do I.

Dont hesitate to post your goal, where you are currently and why you are motivated!

Goal: 155lbs but November 21th!
Currently: 170lbs.

I did it before, I'll do it again! I want to lose weight because I went from 15% of BF to 24-25% today (roughly) and I hate it. I let depression get the best of me and lost all the benefit/result of 2 years of intense working out. I will use this post as a source of motivation: posting my evolution publicly should motivate me even more, since I have a goal and I don't want to fail.

My diet is around 1800kcal/day (my basal metabolic rate).
I workout 5 times a week (cardio mostly, I will start strentgh again when i ll get to 160lbs).

I use lost it! + apple watch + a bluetooth scale to track everything.

I am 5'10" at 176 pounds. I know I don't "look" too overweight, but I carry a decent amount of muscle mass from a past life. I am shooting to lose some pounds to get to 163. That is where I feel most comfortable,

I'm in! :)

Yeah!!!! Welcome on board!!! And keep the motivation for the coming weeks/months!

I didn't go to the gym at lunch but I will go for sure in the evening.

Nov 2014 I was a horrible 318lbs. The heaviest I had ever been. Quit smoking, cut back on the booze and cut out soda while adding gobs of physical activity.

Today I'm 235 with no real weight loss goals by a certain time, just want to be back to the 160-175 shit Brickhouse I was 15 years ago. I also want to try out and make the new Womens football team in Oakland. :)

That's some great progress! Keep it up!

That's an awesome progress! You aren't that far from the 170s...

If you manage to reach your goal without a deadline I think that it's even healthier. As long as it's a steady loss, this lower the risk of a rebound effect.

Exactly. I never want to get there again.

Mid-Aug I was at my highest of 198, I am now 192, with a goal of 175 by the time I turn 37 in mid-Nov. I need to get on it but I am on a healthy track of good nutrition, no alcohol, but I do need to bump up (make time for) my workouts.

That's good! The nutrition is the most important part. And no alcohol too.

I found out that's the best way to stick to a workout schedule is... to have a schedule of course, but mostly have a gym or park or anything close to work/home.

When I first lost 20 pounds, I lived 2 blocks away from a 24hourfitness.

And now, my job is a block away from the one on montgomery/sutter. It helps a lot: i have no excuse!

I am fortunate that I have a pretty decent gym at work, that also has different classes. I just need to make myself a priority over my work. It's a constant work in progress for me.

I started in April at 384lbs. Jumped on the scale before work on Thursday and was at 333.9lbs.

Got about another 50-60lbs or so to my ultimate goal. Even when I get "thin" I'm still going to be a huge guy, just not fat. :laughing

Current: 186 pounds at around 13-14% BF
Goal: 195 pounds and +/- 9-10% BF

I really need to stop eating all the candies :x

Damn! Good luck! That's a hell of a diet. A coworker is currently on the path to 7-8% of BF and is around 1700kcal (he is around 5'5 and 160-165lbs). I never saw him that tired.

What's your plan to reach that goal? Lose fat and then gain muscle?

I already get my meals prepped for me, cause im lazy AF and really don't want to spend my free time meal prepping. The only meal i cook is breakfast. This makes the diet part easy...except the temptations are hard to control.

I workout 6 days a week already and without cardio i can keep the BF under control. So im just gonna add 20 minutes of cardio in after each workout and that should lower my BF to where i want it without losing muscle mass.

Im at around 17-1800 calories a day already so the cardio should help with that 300-400 calories a day i will burn in fat and not muscle. Again, hopefully. I'll spend the next couple of weeks monitoring things and see if its the right plan or not. Its hard to gain muslce weight and lose BF at the same time, but not impossible...just takes ALOT of patience.
