bitcoins

Sadly I think a lot of people are using Cryptocurrencies purely for that reason. They don't give a damn about the technology or the issues it's trying to solve - they're simply looking to cash in and fuck off.

Makes me grumpy :x

And this was the point I was gonna make. Those 'techies' and ones in the industry are offended by the sudden rush in investors. They've enjoyed their close community and network and now it's disrupted. Not sure why it bothers them but it does.

Most people that invest don't fall in love with the company/stock. With crypto it's even more detached from the company/product.

I have to laugh watching the price of the nano ledger s sky rocket. Believe it was $80 few weeks ago. Amazon had it for $115 and cant keep it in stock. Guy on craigslist was selling new ones for $110 each now he's asking $199.

Not different the gold rush it seems.

PM.

Note: I won't promote them, but I sent you some info.

Mind sending me that info as well?

Why do people making money upset you directly?

Do you know about QSP? What are your thoughts on that coin?

I apologise for not being clear on the last post. I can't speak for everyone, but I'm definitely not offended with people who want to be involved. I get irritated by those who are blindly pushing their products when they don't even know what their tech's purpose is.

Right now there are ICO's that are mooning without even having whitepapers, it's a joke. So us "techies" are simply asking those who want to invest to read up a little and understand their blockchain's purpose before blindly pushing others to invest and HODL.

I'll do the same I did for Billy ;) Just google: "Alt Coin Pump and Dump" . There's hundreds of them, not all are as shady as others.

People making money doesn't upset me. People who encourage others to invest in products/markets they themselves don't understand upsets me.

RE: QSP. I don't know much about it tbh, other than simply offering a platform for smart contracts. By the looks of it, their development is lacking:

I know jack shit about the cannabis business but know that’s it’s an up and coming market and a wise investment. My buddies stocks are up 15-20% since May. By not knowing the business, I shouldn’t be allowed to invest and make a return on my $$? That’s an awfully selfish mindset.

Day traders rarely know anything about companies. They’re monitoring those candlestick graphs and buy/sell accordingly.

Not quite an apples to apples comparison.

When you buy stock on the stock market, you're utilizing something that's been around for decades, is heavily regulated to prevent fraud (to the best of their abilities, sometimes not successful) and everything is pretty much transparent.

In the case of bitcoins, the technology and what's happening is pretty much opaque. You don't know if there are built in controls to give some inside people a HUGE advantage by fast tracking all of their trades over everybody else's. There are many questions that aren't going to be answered for a long time, if ever, and those are important questions that are critical to understanding if it's anywhere close to a level playing field.

It’s not a level playing field. Big money can make the prices move. Is that different from anything else though?
Yup, the price swings are much bigger and much faster and very few people really know for sure how trades are sequenced.

Spot on. :thumbup

Damn Ledger Nano S wallet sold out everywhere. Ledger's website says March they're back in stock.

Bought Tron tonight and it's $8 to send from Binance to a MEW wallet. So lame. I'm gonna wait a day and see if I can find a Ledger Nano S.

Few on craigslist locally but that scares me a little. The Ledger can be reset but still, never know.

I've got one I'm no longer using, dubs. Let me know if you're interested.

I think you guys are being a little too paranoid concerning the nano.

Yes putting a usb stick into your machine is dangerous but so is clicking on any link/photo on Barf.

You can always reset your nano, create a new seed and then store that instead

When I got my nano I wiped it and used a new combo of secret words.

there have been rumors of hacked ledgers where your coin is rerouted. Not sure the validity of it. I would rather go paper wallet before I went used Nano
