"Burning Man 2017" Caution: May Contain Burning Man

What dicks!

It's really not a big deal. They get cleaned up and get re-sold to the next burners the following year. There mostly Walmart quality bikes. They would only last 6 months of regular use, but will last 4-5 years at burning man.

Apparently the Burners left behind around 5k bikes! :wtf

Approximately 5,000 bikes apparently abandoned at 'leave no trace' Burning Man

Climber-

That reminds me of the pics of Mt. Everest; All these people who supposedly revere nature and that mountain, leave a ton of garbage atop it.

Yeah, I've seen those pictures and they're disgusting!

Those people who climb Everest are definitely of the selfish type.

Yeh. I'm no fan of the event but they do try and pick up after themselves and the bikes are an exception based on their re-use. I don't think its a big deal, it's a frickin desert, they aint gonna catch on fire or emit toxic waste...

Huh? Do you think a bike left on the playa will magically fix itself up and sell itself to someone the next year?

No. It's a thing. It's just trash if you leave it there. Might sink into the mud and leak lubricants in the lake when it fills over the winter too.

If you can find someone to take it and sell it and re-use it, that's great. But that applies to tents or sleeping bags or anything which is re-usable. You can't just dump it.

Nope. Shows what a hypocritical douche-fest the event is. No trace is no trace. Take you fuckin' trash home with you.

Couldn't you also say that about cans, bottles, paper, BBQ's...

Burning man seems in no way like a good time. Hot, filthy, crowded, noisy, expensive. Doesn't seem worth it just for the "experience"

This^^^
...but my son loves it for some reason.
(and you'd never guess it by looking at him)

Sorry, can't agree with that, when you start making exceptions you open the door for other exceptions and next thing you know it's a fricken mess out there.

These douchebags should have taken their bikes away with them. Period.

Burningman is not it used to be when I was attending with a sub 20k attendance. I saw an article that was specifically about the fashion people wear out there complete with designer names and price tags. Then they would interview the designer who was of course covered in playa dust.

I remember a time when we used to tell the media to fuck your hole. Apparently now they flock to cameras as the look at me generation has taken over.
