I wouldn't call my TH10 weak. All defenses were maxxed before I clicked the button. When my defenses were maxxed as a TH9, just working on walls, I would get raided about 20% of the time and owned by TH10s while my TH was exposed. Now, peopel go for it only 5% of the time and the last few attempts didn't make it to my oil storage.

What makes a TH10? Troops, Infernos and max defenses. I set t up so I had 8m gold in storage, CC loot makked (about 1.5m more gold) and collectors full. Elixer maxxed, too. As soon as my TH was done, I had two ITs building and my first max troop being researched. I didn't spend much time as aTH10 in a TH9 body. I gather all loot much faster now than when I was TH9, so I beleive I have accelerated my upgrading over the grind schedule.

Had I grinded along and maxxed all my walls, people would have continued to air raid me. Walls don't work as well when people just go over them. If you want to max everything, more power to you. I'm just offering up an alternative view to the "max every single little thing" standpoint.

this. i am grinding my walls to 9 while i upgrade my heroes and darkl troops. . i want my heroes to 20 before i make the jump.

but i will not build my infernos or xbow for a while. it will be a pure offensive jump. maybe by october i will be a TH10. and then christmas for an inferno.

Uh huh, only $10? sure it's not more? haha.. I have some friends in FL who's clan I'm in. I was last down there a few weeks ago, they all hang at this bar. I asked the same question and they all played down how much they've spent at first. Then truth eventually came out.. They've spent 100's of $$ on that stupid game.. Haha.. It's fun tho.
 
Yup. Bought gems once and never did it again. More fun to progress without the added help.
 
Never bought any DLC for a game, or any game for a phone. :x

Defeats the whole purpose of free gaming, and if I have to pay to make your game more fun, then it's not that good of a game to begin with.

Eh i am somewhere just shy of 200. But only 50 of it was mine. I bought gift cards for presents, but they flaked and never showed up. I have no use for itunes gift cards anymore, so i gemmed my king, my balloons.

But even then i do not view much of this as a waste. I have been playing for 18 months and still get joy out of it. And unlike most free gzmes i do not get littered with advertising while the app is open.

$40. Early on I bought Gems for the King and then again for a fourth builder. That was over a year ago and since then, I've just relied on Gem bonuses and the slow build up of daily gems. I got a fifth builder from gem bonuses (master and champions and big contributors, 1k and 2k respectively).

It was a win. I sucked, though. Things went so well that I was to take out my mirror. I was full of fail.

I'm back to my original clan now. I'm applying the tactics that I learned and seeing how it will work.
 
I spent $0 on my main account. And used a gc ~$15 total to gem my builders on my 2nd account at the very beginning to help move things along. The rest of the gc i let my kid have for music.

As for my th9 grind, i'm going to finish my lego walls, then move up to TH10. I have about 110 or so left. My heros are BK16(upgrade almost done with de ready for BK17) and AQ20. All troops maxed, just a few of the new DE spells have been upgraded. All defenses upgraded.

I haven't boosted my barracks on my main for the past 6 months, and avg about 10-15kde/day randomly raiding. TH is snipeable but not completely free. Just to make them waste enough troops to not want to continue. I'm hoping to have the BK to 20 before going TH10, so that is about 4 more weeks.

My alt acct is a TH9 with L3 xbows, all skull walls and th8 max defenses otherwise. He's mainly for troop donations and backup in wars when we need another body. I guess he'll be a TH9 lifer. I don't want to have to grind th10 with 2 accounts lol. He can just move slowly, he has all the troop upgrades i care about in regards to donatable troops.

lulz, i just ordered a cable to get my iphone 4 up and running again to start a new village. it will likely not go higher than TH7, but it will have minimal defenses. we have a few people in the clan that have proceeded too far. our number 3 TH10 struggles to 2 star TH8s, lvl 6 wizards and lvl 7 giants and nothing else past TH8 troops. built all 3 xbows and both infernos to lvl 1, and nothing else higher than TH8 levels.

i am trying to convince our war starters to include our TH5-6-7s more. but they argue they are too easily attacked. they just do not get war matching.

Oh man, i hear you on war matching. Had I thought about it earlier, i would have left my alt with max th9 troops and th7 defenses lol.

I would bring an alt to th8. That gives you the ability to donate max wizards, max loons, L6 giants, max hogs and L4 drags (Assuming Perk 5). TH7 troops just aren't worth donating these days.

My buddy started his alt to th8. He's only adding the additional AD and maxing those out. The rest of the defenses he will leave alone. He's hoping to get matched with noob th8's with no troops or maxed th7's. Both would be in our favor.
 
the clan im in has too many people away during wars, majority of the clan are stationed on base so I get that some can't play. But last 5 wars, we had people not even attack to clean up the lower bases. As a result, we lost many wars by 1 :/

I hate when that happens. That's the prime reason that most clans recycle people. But if you are in a clan with friends it's harder to do.


It's hard to convince people how war matchmaking matters. It's either good for war or good for farming. Farming doesn't take into account defense and warring doesn't take into account offense.

For my alt account i will be a th10 defenseless. On the war ladder I am still below a th5 with walls and canons. And because of my CC size I can fill it with dragons and loons, or valks and wizards and it takes someone on the opposite team to attack down. If they attack straight across I am getting zero star attacks against me.

But, I have a hard time looting now a days. The multiplayer matchmaking puts me up against other TH10s or TH9s. Every once in awhile I will get a th8 with loot but I'm penalized because it's minus 2 levels.

It doesn't really matter to me because I don't really farm with that account. I use the war wins/bonuses to pay for offense upgrades. Im in no hurry so it will take awhile.
