Collect and Grow Succulents/Cactus?

I can't show what I see, photography has the ability to frustrate me pertaining to art.
I can't draw, so pix has a chance, kinda. I would need to spend thousands for camera and the lenses, then gathering experience thru years of use. I do have one cheap camera with macro lens, some of the "funhouses" the bees get to enter for pollination have their own following on the art side.
I don't have or want a pix hosting site, I'm limited thru my ISP to maybe two megapixels

I have seen perfect single plant, tone on tone with the house as background in Los Osos, but couldn't capture it, lack of lenses.

This is space 46, Tony's old spot, the coach shading this bed is gone now, most of their potted plants were spread thru the park. He and his wife moved on to assisted living

Dinner @ Bayside Cafe last nite as the sun sets, they rolled up the sunshade.

Humming birds where hitting this spot, with the screen down in silhouette, just for the tease. What looks like red leaf cabbage, , ,

Those are incredible!!

Are we having an exchange program? I have some giants that broke. They are rooted and ready for planting. The little run-a-way is ready to make babies.

These are in San Rafael but it would be fun to rehome some of them.

I’d love a couple, but am short on time these days. If you’re making a trip out to Oakland I’ll reimburse ya gas, a meal, beer, or just straight cash. I frequently foster and place plants in forever homes. I have a small yard but I like to experiment so I have to cycle things out.

Morro's municipal property is tended by a group of succulent savvy volunteers, that plant and arrange on the bits and bobs, and big stuff along the embarcadero.
Signs are planted in these beds, some have info numbers, this one doesn't. I'll try to post it.

This is out front of the M B visitor center, where I just picked up a fresh copy of Latitude 38, finally returning to the racks, now that this place is open & manned

Guess where?

Signage has been pulled from the muni flower beds all over town, they were very prominent along the esplanade.

And,

A little something for the nomadic life,
I didn't hear or see a duck or goose, for this years winter migration. not one honk. :thumbdown
This vagabond going Mex @ The Maya, must be broke, without any sand toys, dining, up north of Pismo. Just like the rest of the tourists in Morro Bay.

An xmas sale last weekend, looks like a yard/garden landscaper specializing in succulents opened up his shop for private sales from local hobbyists.

My time here in Morro is down to two days left, I won't have all these fantasy plants to share as what seems to me as "succulent porn" .
A term I pulled from Warren Miller movies, "sno-porn" all about large dumps of snow with fantastic conditions, i.e. bluebird day with 10 feet of new powder,
All about the best conditions, that make healthy growing soo easy.

My yard in Hope will be my bloomin' time investment, I'll post on that progress, , ,

beautiful collection!
My bear paw and string of dolphins is flowering-such a great site in these cold and cloudy times.

I'm preparing to have to remove a large tree in my front yard soon. That will drastically change what I have planted there. While I'm mourning the loss of many plants that won't be able to handle the new sun and lack of water, I'm kind of excited about the possibilities too. Anyone know where to get large, mature cacti? I may need mature specimen or two that doesn't break the bank.

There’s a guy in Fairfax that puts out Cacti for sale on the honor system. Next time I’m out there I’ll see what he’s got.

Believe it or not, our Lowe's out here in West Sacto carries huge cacti and succulents, just got to go at the right time of year.
My plants are enjoying the rain but getting close to freezing temps. causes me some concern.

Ocotillo has leaves starting to fill in, responding to the watering.
Paddle cactus are showing new buds, now.
Freezes still happening last week.
On track for spring, , ,

the temps are great for growing and of course, additional collecting.

I also have extra large paddle cacti if anyone wants a paddle or two. It'll grow anywhere and grow large!
