Digital SLR / DSLR Camera Question / DSLR Thread 2

Nah, went with the 70-200. On a pretty tight budget, and can't really afford the difference right now.

I will definitely post up some pics though. :thumbup

You can't go wrong with the 70-200 2.8L IS anyways. It's such a solid performer. I just wish all of my lens had IS that good!

You mean 70-200 VR? :twofinger

oh yeah... nikonians... :barf

Meanwhile, my camera is growing... (got my grip)

:p

I never cared for a vertical grip much. Chose the D700 over the D3 last year. I've tried several times to use one, really wanted to like it, but it just didn't work for me. So if you see a guy shooting with his elbow way up in the air, it's probably me. :laughing :party

I had gotten used to the grip on my F4, so I had to get it for my D90. Extra room for hands and nice portrait shutter button is great, and of course double battery life is nice

I have a feeling I'm gonna really wish I'd spent the extra $80 for the 200 f/2, aren't I? :( :laughing

Edit: tempted.

Really damn tempted.

Maybe I'll switch the order when I go pick it up. :)

:laughing sweeeeet temptation. nothing like lens regret when looking at a pic.

this is my first grip, but i got it mostly for the portrait shutter. we'll see how i like it. it's become a massive camera once you add the LSII

Shot a wedding last summer when the sky was all orange for a solid week...awesome light, even straight against the sun at 5pm!
