Digital SLR / DSLR Camera Question / DSLR Thread 2

50 is good enough (for me) indoors...and hopefully soon to get a 35 and a 20 prime...along with the 135L prime...this hobby is expensive, but the most important thing is "it makes us happy" hahaha...

Lol!

Problem is, I have no 'every day' lens for it at the moment at all, the 50 is OK, but not for indoors when you can't get far enough away.

I may flog the 70-300 and just try to get the L lens that much sooner. But for right now, I need something wider than the 50.

The 85 prime IS on my shopping list tho...

hmp, keep the nifty fifty...sell the 70-300 and the other lens that you have when you have enough funds for the 24-70 L or 24-105L, then get some more glass...

Shooting this weekend with Criseida. Need location(s) in Niles/Fremont area. Gonna try and scout a few spots this week, but work hours mean I don't get much daylight.

That's the plan :thumbup

Tho I'll probably keep the fiddy for the Rebel, plus, I'd barely get anything for it used.

And then I'll just have to get the 1.2L 50 too :)

Nick, there's the bike path?

Nick, make a left going to niles coming from Mission and make the first right, there's a bridge. You can do one right under the bridge on the lil creek. also you can drive further down ( i wouldn't recommend it for safety purposes) then after polameras rd. theres a turn out (right before the right hander), there's also a nice place (see attached). and lastly railroad track on mission blvd right after nursery st...

Sweet. Those are all within a half mile of my house, too. :laughing

Return the lens if you can. You can borrow my 18-55 indefinitely until you get the one you want. If you need it, you can also borrow my 55-250. I'll even ship them to you to save time and $$$.

18-55 won't work...full frame (canon) only accepts EF lenses and other lenses with adapters..

Aw, thanks man!

Well, tis already on it's way. And of course, after searching through CL and getting no responses from the 1 person selling this lens, I see an ad for one just down the road, for $150. Doh!

And yeah, didn't know about the F1.0, I've been using the Canon list as my reference. Interestingly, San Jose Camera said they didn't stock the 28-105 as it's 'too old'. Hmm. Seems to review well for a cheap lens tho.

With the full frame, now I'm wondering if I shouldn't just get the 85L prime instead of the 24-70L, but the flexibility appeals if I'm spending that much.

If I had a bottomless pit of cash, I'd have both. I might end up with both, but only after the Mayans say they earth is going to end anyway :rofl
