Has the original question been answered yet? Did i miss it?
The question about was which motorcycle prefered by willing women.
The question was "assuming women are manipulated into sleeping with men by the nature of the motorcycle said man rides, are harleys best"?
It's not the question that's offensive, it's the assumptions it's built on.
The problem is that the question "which bike attracts more women" already makes an unspoken assumption that women are a commodity. You don't care about attracting a specific individual woman, you just want to attract as many women as possible. This implies that you think all women are equivalent, that they are commodities.
Same thing with "female attention". That phrase also makes the assumption that all women are the same. You don't care about any specific woman's attention, you just care about "female attention" in general. That again implies that you think of women as an undifferentiated commodity, not as individuals.
Think also about why exactly you want "female attention". If you're honest with yourself, you'll see that it's about boosting your ego. So your inclination is to use women as objects to satisfy your desires, which really isn't a very nice way to treat people.
I'm sure that all of this wasn't explicitly on your mind when you posted these things and you didn't truly mean it that way, but I hope you can see why many people have a problem when you're talking about human beings in that way. If you still can't quite see it, try to put yourself in the mindset of a woman reading your posts, and see how that might make you feel. It doesn't feel nice to be treated as an object that needs to be manipulated (by using the right kind of motorcycle) into giving you attention, a means to an end, rather than as an individual.
Nothing's off limits, people should just be aware that with free speech comes personal accountability for the outcomes of their speech. If you spend your days encouraging shitty attitudes through jokes, then you shouldn't be surprised when decent people to hold you accountable for your shitty expressions.
If you don't feel comfortable with that responsibility, or if your material is indistinguishable from actual racism/sexism, probably worthwhile to improve your material until it's not terrible.
I mean, an example of how things should go down went down in this thread itself. Karbon made a shitty joke, and then stepped up and took responsibility for that. So did jdan007, and they're both good people for doing that. If you're gonna be edgy, be prepared to take responsibility for if you end up dicking it up and looking like an asshole - it doesn't make you a bad person until you double down when you misstep and confirm that you're actually an asshole, rather than going "oh, shit, I guess that was too far", and sincerely apologizing for taking the jokes to a place that isn't funny, just damaging.
Comedy is social commentary, and if the extent of your social commentary is "women are objects", it's shitty comedy.
If you knew Karbon, you'd know he was just being irreverent.... sucks that the internet fails us that way, with communication![]()
This is a land mine Id love to step on.......not rape but what people deem funny or should apologize for. Don't have the time to compose right now. Off the garage to do some wrenching. I like the cut of your jib though.![]()

It's not the internet that fails. It's not that we can't hear that special sparkle in his voice to know "oh, it's OK - what he's saying is funny..." What falls short is Karbon. And anyone else who makes rape jokes. Whoever Karbon is, could be a saint for all I know or care, they need to learn that in real life, on the internet, in actuality, under a rock or on top of a boat in the middle of the ocean, Rape. Jokes. Are. Never. Funny.
Rape is not irreverent. It is irreversible. Rape is destroying. It kills humanity. It's barely survivable. It can be worse than death. And if you think that's hyperbole, ask someone you know who has been raped. Go ahead.
Right. And as I said earlier, that question implies that that the person asking it views all women as equivalent to each other. It implies that women are an undifferentiated commodity, so that men don't care which particular willing woman they get, as long as they get some. This question is based on a fundamentally offensive assumption, and that's why it's offensive.
Disagree. Just because someone wants to know what is more likely to attract women, whether it's the type of bike, clothes, body, hairstyle, or pickup line, doesn't mean he thinks ALL women will be attracted by it, or that he intends to fuck anything that moves. That doesn't make sense.
