One thing that might make the geometry feel a little bit more comfy and get your weight a little bit further back for the rippin' dh would be the Thompson Set-Back seat post. That's what I have. Pain in the ass to set up but once you've got her dialed it's a really sweet item.large is my goal now. 410mm thompson and a 60 mil stem and the bike should rip
I usually ride my mountain bike or my motorcycle every weekend. Today we rode Tamarancho. It was very nice! I think next weekend we might be riding China Camp. I'll start posting my rides here. Great thread!![]()
So did we!! Joe on the full DH pig, me on a Reign X1, Doug on his creakcreakcreak...creakcreakcreak Blur, and Roxy on a Turner. 2 loops clockwise. That big roadie ride had the parking lot full.
We got there about 12:00. I worked until 6 am this morning. I had to sneak in some zzzzz's before the ride. I really like Tamarancho. The varity is perfect.

Looks like 06+ got mo travels yo!
OK guys and girls, what do you think about this for an xc machine

Blah Blah Blah , . . . Just go test ride a large Nomad somewhere !SOOOOO, ive been playing with seat height numbers and things, after riding an XL nomad, which absolutely sucked. to much like the enduro, long, stretched out...etc.
So i crunched a few numbers:
large nomad has an 18.5 inch seat tube. with 175mm cranks, and a 410mm thompson, would i be able to get proper leg extension, with me having a 35.5-36 inch inseam. and if so, will the post be maxed? etc
answer...i think. someone wanna go over it for me?
post height = .833x inseam
for me, that would be 29.57 or 29.98 depending on which inaccurate self measured inseam i use.
trying to visualize, 18.5 seat tube and a 410mm thompson (16.1 inches or so), combined gives about a 34.6 inches, subtract 4 for min insertion, and your around 30.6 or so, and throw on the 6.8 from the 175mm cranks, and we come out around 37.5. which would give me an inch and a half, or more depending on the more accurate inseam.
this all make sense? i think its right...maybe someone can confirm.

1) Dude, you're not obligated to buy it if you test ride it
2) As much $mula$ as a new bike can be, you ought to know for sure that it will at least fit you
JM2C (just my 2 cents)
.
have test ridden them. NO ONE will put a 410 post on it for me to test though, or even has one for that matter. looking at one tomorrow
I think your numbers look pretty good though.Ha!! Take that 3k-4k to someone who will, I mean $80 seatpost vs 3k-4k ?I think your numbers look pretty good though.
