Do You Mountain Bike?

I was looking for some folks to split a ride to North * this weekend

Any takers?

I have stuff to video the ride

Entertainment for all to see

Did you pick the Weirwolf's solely for this course?

yanno i had them, and didn't like them around the bay except for santa cruz trails or trails with a ton of loamy ass soil, but they are KILLER for downieville. the LT rolls crazy fast rear, and the front hooks up enough, and gives a nice drift to keep things interesting up front. much better than a mutano in front.

I was told by a WTB rep today that, the dude who helped make the tires(Mr. Weir) and his other buddy who places 2nd most of the time if not first use the Weirwolves to race Downieville but that when not at race pace they use Mutanos but that they need the puncture resistance of the 2.5 Weirwolf when really pushing it.

He also mentioned that with the 2.5's you don't need to run high pressures, that even at D-ville roughly 35PSI should work just fine without pinching due to the extreme volume of the tire and extra beefy sidewalls. Not sure who the dude was, he was just the guy who answered the phone :)

Rick, Skyline looks like fun! Looks like Robert went with you guys - I didn't know he rode too?

Roxy, we're still on for Saturday. Only gonna do an XC pre-run though, just to see if Lisa wants to sign up for the race - we're gonna have to save the DH for another day. July 5th appears to be the most likely date.

Cody, you're talkin about the 2.55 Weirwolf LT, not the 2.5 Weirwolf, right? Also, I have some 2.4 Mutanos you're welcome to try out. I found an extra used set in my basement.

Scott, thanks for the info on the tires. I'll give those a shot. I know Weir ran Stans on his tires last year - you don't know if he ran the Team FR tires with Stans in the race, do you?

Joe, the threat of that kind of injury is what keeps me in check at things like trackdays. I'll give you a buzz soon.

It should keep you in check but it wasn't actually an injury. Possibly a compilation of old injuries in a body that just doesn't seem to be healing (from anything) anymore. :(
Getting old sux ass, ... especially when your brain is still tellin' you that you want to be ridin' at the front of the dh with Scotty and Ryan.

F@#K Did I mention, getting old sux ass!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Gonna sell the gixxer and all the mtn. bikes and have some rockin' chairs put in the garage. You guys can all come over and we can sip tea and warm milk and maybe watch "Gone With the Wind" or "West Side Story" on the tele.

Change in plans - I think we're shuttling this weekend.

Damn, and I thought I was beat after Sunday's 3mile super D:laughing

12miles would be good for practice though.

yup. theres 4 of us planning to go, but none of us have vehicles big enough to get all of us there. not looking good. i may just hit d ville again.

Actually, change in plans again. I think we're gonna put off the DV shuttling for a few weeks, as Lisa wants to train a little harder and take a skills clinic before we head up that way.

We may be doing Auburn this Saturday though.

Tamarancho, not just for fun runs. :twofinger

Heh, I had nightmares about losing that race. I woke up kicking / pedaling twice.

Cody, did you get a time for Tamarancho yet? Start and stop your watch where the trailhead starts on the paved road :)
