Do You Mountain Bike?

its prob the one that was jacked from my truck this weekend

Damn Scott, that sucks. Where did it get lifted?

I was actually about to put a couple of my older ones on eBay. Catch me online later if you're interested. I have a JVC KD-S5050 and a Pioneer DEH-1700 I was about to put on eBay.

Howell Mountain Challenge race results:

Yody: 1st in age group (Beginner - first MTB race ever)
MrCrash: 1st in age group (Beginner - 2 minutes behind Yody)
Lisa: 2nd in age group (Beginner)

I'm kind of in a weird spot right now as far as XC racing goes. I've won my last two local events with 5 to 10 minute margins over the second place finishers, but I have a long, long way to go before I'm competitive in Sport. Still, I guess it's time to bump up...

good job mike. did some cool runs up at d ville. about 65 miles for the weekend. big boulder is the best trail up there.

got jacked at the park n ride in fremont. fucked my dash bezel up to. broken off. thats going to cost about $200. plus the window. and a stereo. mother fuckers didnt get my ipod from behind the seat.

do either of those 2 deck's have an aux port? for ipods?

Best thing for ipods, allows us to keep an old but good radio that nobody wants to steal.
Make sure to leave your truck at a friends house, those public spots are always hot.

Sweet wins for Mike and Cody(bstrd):x

Congrats Mike!:thumbup

Was it tougher/easier than the Sonoma race?

Thanks Scott. Unfortunately they don't - hope you can find some kind of replacement soon.

If I manage to make another DVille run this year, Big Boulder is definitely on the must-ride list.

Thanks Sonny! Yeah, Cody is killin it right now, being the comedian on the trail the whole time. While the guys he was running with were gasping for breath, the guy is out there cracking jokes, starting conversation, and honking that little dinosaur head horn :)

My legs are even more thrashed than they were last week, with both my calves cramping up towards the end. It'll be a few weeks til I can even try for my own sub-50 Tamarancho run.

Congrats Mike!:thumbup

Thanks Rox!

It was bigger, faster and more fun! Howell Mountain had more climbing, descending, and flow than either Fort Ord or Lake Sonoma. There were a few super-fun rollercoaster sections as well, where you had to pin it on the descent to make it up the next steep, rocky climb. Cool stuff :)

For reference:

Lake Sonoma Avg Speed: 8:0 mph
Fort Ord Avg Speed: 12.8 mph
Howell Mtn Avg Speed: 10.1 mph

:teeth I "think" I came second out of ALL the beginners as well, might of been third though? I was more happy with that result than the 1st of my age class. I only saw one other guy when I rolled in after finishing and he said he hadn't seen anyone either. He ran 1:06.30 or something and I did 1:08.13 I think so I was pretty happy for that result as well. Man that was the hardest 12.6 miles (or whatever) I've ever ridden! That was pretty intense, about mile 8 I was wishing it to be over but once in retrospect it all just seemed like fun :wtf Thanks to Mike for inviting me to come and participate, I don't think I'd ever of joined a race otherwise.

I'm gonna start doing 2 loops of all my favorite runs out here non-stop to try and train so I can bump up to Sport pretty soon here, although it sure was fun spanking all the beginners :) I'm just not sure how the next races will work out considering winters around the corner and as well moving into a new house is going to take up a lot of my time.

yesterday was nice and XTREME!!!
we managed to throw two girls down on the trail.

BUT BRIAN WAS FINE WHEN WE LEFT HIM!

FYI: Post race recovery

Days of recovery = mtn bike race distance / 3

If you must train during this period "active" recovery workouts are allowed at 60-70% of MHR

I'm down to make China camp a regular Monday thing..... though I'm going to look into a full face helmet, cos' my lip hurts!
