Do You Mountain Bike?

Would any of you leave a bike rack hooked up to your car hitch or just put it on as I need to use it?:confused

I leave mine on most of the time, unless I know I'm not going to be riding for a few days. I have the Yakima locking kit and it works well.

My hitch rack on my ex-gf's car got bent when another car tried to park behind hers in SF. Your call.

I need to get my Stumpjumper a tune-up for the first time. Any recommendations in the North Bay, more specific Santa Rosa area? I was thinking about just taking it to CBO. REI said it was a week turn around time?! Everyplace the same for something as simple as this or should I take it to a LBS?

tune it up yourself...not hard...mostly cleaning the drivetrain, readjusting suspension (if needed) and slight tweaks with shifter cables.....should take you all of 1.5 hours...and that includes 2 beers consumed in the process.

If you need to true your wheels that'll take an extra 15 minutes....and you don't need a stand (but you do need a spoke wrench ;) )

Here's a good site for tips:

Thanks for the link! Im too lazy to do it and lately been strapped for time. I forgot about the LBS by my house, BreakoutBikes I think it is. Dropped it off with them. Next time I will have to do it myself.

Rode 26 miles at Demo today - trails are in EXCELLENT condition:party

Were you with SJ? I saw his truck there, but wasn't sure what you were driving. Some of my group was late. I guess we missed you guys with the late start and later finish. Next time...

The beers and brauts in the parking lot afterwards were excellent.

Harpo... quit whining. :teeth

yep I was with SJ for my first loop and then I rode solo for the 2nd. SJ was still :green from the night before:p He mentioned the BBQ but I never saw you guys.

First ride I did without my helmet, wheelied over a snake and prayed for it to not rattle.

Need to get some group rides going, just so I'll calm down a bit.
