Do You Mountain Bike?

That's cool i just got into MB and i'm interested in joining your MB group but not this sunday have both kids to take care of. So far I've been riding chabot lake. Gonna hit up a new trail next thursday, not sure yet but my buddy said to pick something fun (more speed/downhill) any suggestions? I've been checking out MTBreview and dirtworld for trails also... But Wicked for sure to add me on the pm list for futrue rides thanks...:)

Man if this gets popular enough BARF might have a MTB section lol :)

There are tons of hilly trails up off of Hwy 35 above Saratoga. All sorts of loops and interconnects. Just a hassle to drive all the way up there.

I have been riding for a while, but have not gone lately since I mainly ride motos during the wknds. But I would be up for mtn bike rides. Add me to the pm list.

im down for mtn biking. I usuallydo montara and sometimes fairfax so just pm me cause im down.

I can't make it time, but I would LOVE to go on any groups rides in the south bay. Put me on your list! Gracias!

just checked out Joaquin miller in oakland on a webstie and it looks hell of fun and it has great views gonna try it out with a buddy next thursday. I'll let you know how it is.

AL frame 20" hardtail GT.
7-8 years old.

Hmmm, I dunno, I don't like aluminum mountain bikes. Light (which is good) but stiff. And, as someone else said, unless you are over 6"1, that is a big bike. A bike being too big can be really annoying on descents. I am 6"1, and I have a 19 inch frame. If I had to do it again, I would get a smaller frame. But, my bike is too sweet to give up (Yeti titanium). It is *great* for climbing. I would think you could find something better..

My .02

Next Thursday? I can meet you there after work if you like, around 7 o'clock. I usually do a double loop over there.

It's the most fun legal singletrack in the East Bay. Still haven't done "Side-O" in the Berkeley Hills (which isn't legal).

Me and my buddy are gonna hit it up in the morning, not sure what time, it depends on what time he can get of :).... but if you decided to ride there and see 2 asians who are huffing and buffing say sup ;)

WOW!

I just got home from Thill and I'm really shocked so many people are interested in mountain biking. :)

I will def. keep you all posted about future rides and try to give you all a bit more notice.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to meet some of you guys on Sunday. If anyone has any questions, PM me.

OOOh fun :-D. I've been meaning to meet up with that guy that crashes a lot but calling him mrcrash kinda scares me. I'll try and keep an eye out on the threads, I'm slowly but surely getting back into primo riding shape- I'm hoping to try my luck at a couple of races next summer.

For the southern peeps, check out Soquel Demonstration Forest (Aptos), Wilder Ranch in Santa Cruz or Corte Madera (Hwy 35 by Alices, mosquito warning use protection ;)).

I tried putting a little web page together ages ago with links to various parks out there and it does still need tons of updating but since I've got it, feel free to check it out. There are links to maps and stuff for some of the parks out in the South Bay.
<edit>oops, here you go: http://www.geocities.com/at313/Outdoors/mtn_bike.html</edit>

Anyone down for checking out Wilder Ranch Sunday the 1st?

Meet time would be 9am at the main parking lot by the water fountains (free parking available on hwy 1)
PM me if you're interested, I haven't finalized plans yet and if I'm not expecting you, don't expect me :-D
