Do You Mountain Bike?

So I bought a walmart Fat Bike after riding my friends Pugsly around for the last few days...A new era of riding begins?

I figured its better to just ride the cheapie to see if its just puppy love instead of going ALL IN and buying what I really want (Specialized fatboy)?

Anyone else riding a fatty on the trails?

I don't really see the point in riding a fat bike on most trails in this area. A 2.3" tire set up tubeless and suspension I think is better in most every way. I could maybe see going to a 27.5/29+ with a 3", but not a 5" monster.

With that being said, I have a Trek Farley 7 waiting for me at my old shop for when I move to Canada. Fat bikes do have a purpose, but I generally think it's mainly snow/sand riding where you need the huge contact patch.

Yeas, just got my BroMad on Monday. Dville this next Tuesday with the usual goobers. I am so skinny fat.
Went to demo on wednesday, almost keeled over and died.

Any bicycle I've ridden

While my bike has been in the shop (still waiting on warranty parts to arrive), the shop loaned my a Salsa Bucksaw. I've put in probably 10 hours on the bike, including one XC race, and I have just had more fun on that bike than anything else I've ridden. I just enjoy riding it. Not fast, not hard, just riding trails. It does everything, just not fast.

Since I'm addicted to racing, that's a problem. But, I will have one in the future. Though bombing the Enduro style downhill in the XC race was a lot of fun, and had lots of people jumping off the trail to let me pass

Cool! Sounds like fun. I'm looking forward to mine, but I really plan for it to be a snow bike and winter commuter for when I move to Canada.

They do seem like a lot of fun, but my general riding style is more technically oriented with a good bit of speed... not sure how well a fatbike will lend itself to that. Should be fun to take out when I go riding with my wife and am not looking to really rip.
