EBike Bicycle do you have one?

I'm pretty happy I browsed this thread again--found my old post: which means I have put 2000 miles since that post, on my non-E-bike :)
Nice... :thumbup now that got me thinking, too.
Have only a regular city-bike, [it has] 2000+ miles...

.. because, I have 4000+ miles at this point, on the same regular bike!

I agree, E-bikes are fun, but sadly I still don't have one. I was tired yesterday, so I nearly thought I need one when coming home. But not yet... I think if I had one, it would be like an E-Scoot or E-moto for me, and I won't be as fit.

Is Brutal a River In E-Gypt? :laughing

p.s. "minimalist full suspension S-Works"... funny :)

Well, I have a RadCity from Rad Power Bikes. They have a showroom in Berkeley where all their models are available to demo. They arent a million dollars (most are $1500 or less) and they are pretty good value. I've had mine since February 2020. I've put around 4000 miles on it commuting. Would recommend.

Brett has a Specialized Velo. Devynn has a Juiced Scorpion. We're an electric two wheeled family.

I just posted in the classified that my ladyfriend needs a better e bike for technical trails. She is small. Anybody got anything?

Specialized having a huge sale today.

My e'bike is half what I paid for it a few years ago.

Yamaha was doing the same thing, 50-60% off e-bikes as they're pulling them from the US market.

Specialized is going nowhere though which makes their bikes even more attractive.

Beautifully engineered things.

Even the non E'bikes are a stunning deal.

I have half a mind to order one of these; essentially my e'bike without the motor and thus 10 lbs lighter at 23lbs.

Cheaper than the 40 year old bottle of single malt we got last week for out 40th.

It's a neat bike, but , BTW, since it's exactly what I already have, but from a different brand, with more chainrings (3) and... for $515 discounted (600?) that I bought it years ago, I think that the original price, of that Specialized , is too much, at $1350.... they had inflated themselves.

Sad for the e-bike discounts, though ... wonder if I should buy one, but technically, if you don't need it for longer distances, it is really cheating. ;) haha. They really are, small motorcycles. (y)

Mine certainly is nothing like a moto; you have to work to get above 20mph or tackle 10 percent or more inclines. The non e'bike Sirrus X 4.0 comes with a stem "Futureshock" that give 20mm compliance over road irregularities.

that's the point exactly, it's the speed. A 20mph bike is basically a motorcycle - because it's a worthy central-road user, NOT a "bicycle staying to the side of the road". That's my description of it.

in city traffic, 25mph limit.. AND NEWLY 20 MPH in some areas! that's plenty .

Plenty of younger fitter riders than I can cruise at 20+ mph on regular road bikes.

I knew that comment was coming. That's exactly the point, too. yes, I know everyone (fit) can do 20mph on a regular bike. But not only you have to be fit, BUT also you have to have an unimpeded road to reach that speed--which is NOT the case in city settings. Unimpeded roads are literally why bicycle lanes have to exist.

But, currently in the USA(? or in my City?) there are stops, lights and regular-riders cannot persistently attain 20mph. While ... an e-bike, motorized-cycle, can attain them more easily :)

edit, oh I forgot: most I see have throttle anyway, so they push it more often (like a motorcycle.)

additionally, I see e-bike riders more frequently run the red lights here in SF (the lights have a delay sometimes so they feel, they have the time)

I have a Orbea Wild full suspension Enduro e-bike here in Truckee and I love it.
I can get as much exercise as I want, while going out and riding faster and farther than my analog bike without worrying about what lies ahead, no '"avoid that trail because of the long steep sustained climb that will kill you unless you are John tomac"
The suspension is great and I don't mind the weight at all because if I wasn't riding the 50# e-bike I'd be out on my 500cc dirt bike making more noise, pollution and tearing up trails 👹

I have my Turbo Tero 5.0 up for sale (dirt cheap, price drop) in the grab bag. If any of you are interested in trying it out let me know. I can take it to work (Campbell) and you can take it home and test it for a weekend or a few mid-week days. That is of course if you are a well-known (respectable) BARFer. No strings attached or sales pressure.

part of me wants one. but another part of me has no clue why (doesn’t really fill any sort of a gap).
it fills a big gap if you are a mountain biker that wants to get out there in more remote areas, it allows you to access tons of trails that analog bikers simply can't. Above a certain grade, it's a total chore to use an analog bike. You can also go farther than analogs and simply see more and experience more in a single ride. Also it takes more skill to ride one (not as much as a motorcycle) because there are more parameters to control for, and you're moving faster.

Today I rode 11 miles of crazy singletrack and did about 2000 get of gain, and it was a quick ride. If I was riding an analog bike, if always find an excuse
