EBike Bicycle do you have one?

reference:
Class 1: have only pedal assistance up to 20mph.
Class 2: have pedal assistance up to 20mph + throttle assistance up to 20mph.
Class 3: have pedal assistance up to 28mph + may or may not have throttle assistance up to 20mph.
Class 4: may have a top speed of over 28mph and motor wattage over 750W.

I'm so weak I can't my excellent lightweight Class 3 hybrid over 22 or so on flat ground.

Ok, I can now legitimately chime it. :)
I bought a basic e-bike a while back but hadn't had much free time to ride it settling into our new to us home.
So...been out and put around 60-70 miles on it this last week hitting some of the local bike trails....
Me like. :)
I wanted something basic and not cost a arm and a leg. I went to a e-bike shop in Sac where I could actually test ride before I bought. The nice lady talked me out of the one I went to check out as it apparently had lots of issues and not the best dealer support.
So, I sampled a few and one stuck out and came home with me.
It is a Velotric T1 ST.
Hub drive, 8 speed with four levels of pedal only assist. Really impressed for the price.
If I just rode by you might not even think it was a e-bike as nothing really jumps out at you.
Comes with decent equipment for the price and looks more premium than many I have seen any where near this price point.
Shimano gear set, hydraulic disk brakes, internal routed cables, bright led head light , tail light, kickstand, mounting points for everything you would want, etc. and only weighs 36lbs.
I feel like I still get some exercise as it is only pedal assist and not a super low gear so I still have to get out of the saddle on the steep climes.
The the Sacramento river trail can be taken from town all the way up to Shasta dam on paved trail that is very scenic .
So, I would give this bike a big thumbs up for someone looking for a entry level e-commuter that can do gravel and some dirt road as well.

Looks great.

Enjoy.

Around a thousand buck according to the Google, great price.:thumbup

Happy for you, welcome to the world of e-assist bikes. My wife, who is 71, loves telling people we meet "I'm an old fart, with a replaced hip and arthritis in my spine, and they are a game changer". I'm not quite as stale a fart as she is at 65, and I agree they are wonderful for...... you know, the rest of us. :)

900SS, same age as you.
I had a nice gravel bike a couple of years ago but noticed I was basing weather to ride or not on factors like " is it too windy today?", "will I have enough energy to make that longer ride?" etc.
This really helps take the excuses away.
I am able to carry the cadence I like without the fear of being used up and really suffering on the return leg of a longer ride.
Hoping the Missus picks one up so we can ride together .
She is just a youngling, 62.

I got a kid starting High School next year a 10 minute bike ride 0r 25 minute car ride away and a Lyft E-Bike Station 1 block from my place....

My middle school boy rides his E bike to school. He was pedal only last year and really appreciates the free watts. :laughing

If you pick up a budget e bike, keep a close eye on the brakes. In my experience they fail first.

Yeah, I don't know about that. I think I will probably try the Lyft thing and see if he digs it first.

Kids these days.

When I was a kid I had to Walk 5 miles to school in hard soled leather dress shoes through the snow, even when there was a blizzard and rain, and if I were one minute late, my knuckles would be swiftly smitten and bleed, and then I'd have to write a thousand times on the chalkboard with chalk down to a mere pebble, "I will not be late." in straight parallel lines, or I'd have to do it all over...

All that went away when I bought a motorcycle and stashed it at my friend's house, and snow and rain became known as good old fashioned fun slidin weather...

So I guy did a thing on his bike..
I have been enjoying my e-bike but the off pavement portion of my ride was a bit hard on my wrists.
I found a article on my bike where a guy put a set of gravel bike suspension forks on it and claimed it was the best thing since swiss cheese....
So I checked into the model he used and they were on sale at a significant discount....Boom! Forks ordered.
They are Suntour GVX 40MM gravel forks with full adjustability . The hardest part was getting the right axel and adapters as old was 12mm TA and new is 15mm TA.
Now that that is sorted I slipped on some new pedals that fit my feet better and have supper grip studs.
I am really happy now with my set up, a low cost E-gravel bike ( well under 2K invested) .
I see they made a couple of improvements this year and the latest model now has a bit more range.
Nothing to do now but just keep on riding!

Cool stuff. I rode Fort Ord yesterday, first time there, big fun. The lady I rode with had 5000 miles on her ebike in two years. I have 858 in ten months...

I want to rent a high end E mountain bike

I think it would be a lot of fun and I would be railing a lot of the trails up the mountain

How tall are you? I have an S4 gen 3 Levo S-Works you are welcome to borrow. Just don't ride it off a cliff.......:). I'm 5-10", I think. Somewhere around there. I work next to the post office on Dell; I could bring it to work and you can go for a putt if you want. If not for whatever reason, Specialized Experience Center in Santa Cruz rents, as well as Santa Cruz bikes.

Thanks for the offer!

I'm 5'6", so that bike would be too big for me.

I want to ride Mt. Tam on a e bike

If you don't mind a hardtail I have a Turbo Tero 5.0 medium. My wife is as tall as you and she has the identical bike. It has the full-power motor, and although we have not ridden Mt. Tam, we do ride the Marin Headlands, UCSC/Wilder, Nicene Marks, Calero County Park, Cañada Del Oro, Almaden Quicksilver and others. If you want to try this I could put on a Butcher/Eliminator tire combo that comes on the Levos. I have a new set on hand. And you are welcome by the way.

If you want to try this and have range anxiety or just want to go nuts, you could strap my wife's battery to (whatever floats your boat) and have insane range at the cost of 8 lbs.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I do mind.

Since I like up and down hill, I'm typically on on a minimalist bike. For the longest time, I was hard core, hard tail. Recently I purchased a minimalist full suspension S-Works World Cup.

So the appeal of a e mountain bike is that you can ride longer travel full suspension, but you don't have to worry about lugging and bobbing that thing up hill. I'll rent one and cruz mt Tam one day.
