WFT has been promoting that event for a couple of years now. I understand they get a big turnout of racers and offer a good purse.

The AFT New York Short Track is tomorrow from Weedsport Speedway in Upstate Noo Yawk. This was an action-packed race last year with some thrilling passes despite the knife-edge traction on the hard packed surface. Expecting more of the same tomorrow.

4:20pm AFT Singles Semis

FTR750 engine in a custom frame for Henry Wiles. Found on the facebook and Instagram accounts for Sideburn Magazine.

Very interesting build and ready for AFT Twins competition.

his team has quite the history of customized chassis for him -
that (now outlawed!) Kaw twin a in Singles frame, for instance

which brings me to Ron Woods’ sad passing - R.I.P. Ron

& that 2nd reference combines with the 1st have me declaring my initial “WTF?” reaction to AFTz new 16-contracted teams approach to Twins -
Woods’ & Wiles’ teams’ imagination are either absent altogether, or severely curtailed, by AFTz “we control everything!” approach

wow - last season, my biggest complaint with AFT was that a riderz backup bike had to be the same brand as his primary......

the jury is still WAY out on AFTz latest revisions

Can't wait to hear from Wiles team. Indian is very specific about how they want the bike to look (colors and logos) in order to pay contingency which is significant. Indian didn't let Smith run that different chassis more than one race last season but he was a factory rider. They can't tell a team not to build a bike but they can decide not to pay contingency. Either Wiles has some kind of approval or he would rather win than take their money. Seems hard to improve on the FTR750 chassis (built by S&S) but that doesn't mean it can't be done.

Wiles Kawasaki TT bike wasn't in a Singles chassis. It was a steel frame with box sections rather than aluminum twin spars. AFT rules state Twins frames must be steel. It was very cool bike and worked great. It got retired because Indian said they wouldn't pay contingency if the racer didn't use their bike all season. Essentially, they weren't going to subsidize a racer who beat them on another brand at one or two races, which seems a reasonable stance.

As for the new SuperTwins category, it has a lot of upside and may have some negatives. Need more details than what AFT has released to know for sure. Live TV on a decent network is a huge deal and could really bring money into the sport for teams, racers and promoters.

Summer break is over for the AFT teams. An action packed schedule closes out the season over the next several weeks starting with always wild Sturgis Buffalo Chip TT this Sunday, August 4th, followed by the Black Hills Half Mile Tuesday night evening, August 6th, and the Sacramento Mile next Saturday, August 10th. Three races on three very different tracks in just seven days.

Here's whats coming between now and September 28th.
AFT Twins: 9 races
AFT Singles: 8 races
AFT Production Twins: 7 races

Five Miles, two TTs and Two Half Miles for the premier class. Its going to be great.

Sipes and Ward have won two of the three heats in the Singles class. Lots to love about the Buffalo Chip TT and that includes how the guest racers shake up the results. Looking forward to the semis and mains for both classes.

Whew. Nail biter in the Twins Main. Good stuff.

On to the Black Hills Half Mile on Tuesday night.

Don't know how long this will be available on AFT's YouTube channel but its up for now. 2019 Buffalo Chip TT official live stream.

thx 4 posting

isn’t this what they normally do -
post everything except the 2 finals quickly
& then wait weeks to post the finals on FansChoice?

I guess so. I didn't realize they posted the practices and heats/semis on YouTube so soon.

Exciting finish to the singles main! :wow

Ruthless bar-to-bar racing. This track delivers.
