GTA IV

i think they handle more realistically than before. its fun learning how to powerslide a car around the turns, although its definetly harder to keep your momentum in the right direction.
 
Has anybody had any issues with multiplayer? the other day i was playing it and i kept getting booted from the game. sometimes it works properly, other times not so much. oh well i didnt really buy this game for the multiplayer anyways
 
Last night mine crashed on my 360. I was on some mission to pick Romin up and take him somewhere...I jacked some dudes little step-thru scooter (first time I had seen one of them in the game too!) and we were motoring on that thing. It was pretty comical. :laughing

And then the game and system just locked up. :|

It was late so I just turned it off by holding in the power button for several seconds and didn't bother restarting it. Now I hope its not fried! :cry
 
I just found a pigeon. Man I didn't even know about them till just a little while ago. Man they are hard to find.
 
the faggio (scooter) is hilarious. lol a classic... ive been doin wheelies and endos squiding it up ....

i found grenades too... pretty awesome

anyone notice the helmets look like scorpions kinda. i usually have a black one and its got a silver circle on the side of the shield.

i was playing party mode with my brother on xbox live. we found a couple scooters and went around terrorizing people on them, hahaha. the scooters are so weak, you have to run a person over like 3-4x before they will die. but with 2 people on scooters taking turns running someone over it's pretty effective (and hilarious).

oh, and the handling on the earlier games was completely unrealistic. some people liked that better. personally, i really like the realism. there are so many new possibilities with the more realistic and complicated physics.

in older GTAs if you ran on the freeway cars would just stop for you, in IV you have to look both ways before you cross the street because people will not be able to stop on time and you WILL get hit. lol, once i scared this pedestrian and they ran across the street right in front of an SUV and got smashed.

the choppers are alot of fun to drive around on, as well as the dirtbike/supermoto. Ive only found 1 sportbike so far but it was kind of cool as well.
 
Anybody get to fly a helicopter yet? I was playing one of the online version, forget which one, and got a heli around the corner from where I get dropped into the game. that this is pretty hard to control. I wanted find the other players and rip them up with the blades. But after a while I think I was the last one in the room.
 
They have a fucking Priuses in there.:rofl

Use the cell phone to call FLY-555-0100 and one police gunship will magically appear. Of course doesn't work online, but they can be found. I found one and after strafing some fools for a bit I decided to kamikazi some clown who thought he was gonna shoot me down with a pistol while standing in the middle of a big open area. Even my GF was laughing at that shit.
 
i just noticed that this game has an incredible vehicle damage system. the vehicle damage is NOT PRE-RENDERED! :wow

when you crash into something, your car will actually bend and warp against the objects you hit. here is a cell phone pic of a very badly damaged police car (hit by a firetruck at full speed).

that isn't screen tear, the car really was THAT badly damaged, the whole front left part of the car was smashed in and up!

not only that, but the position of the wheels can get messed up too (which is also not pre-rendered). so if you flip your car off a bridge and the side of your car slams into the corner of a brick wall, you might find that one of your wheels is bent to the side. this actually makes the car handle funny, based on the new wheel location!

i love this game!
 
you also leave huge cracks in the walls of buildings if you hit them hard enough.

and if you damage the engine too much by crashing, the car will die (not blow up, just wont work).

I steal them out of the multiplayer all the time. They aren't so bad once you get used to the controls. Got the chopper, went and picked up some online buds and we went flying around for a bit terrorizing the town...good times! Eventually I flew to the empire state building and the PLAN was for all of us to jump out on top of the building...but I was the only one who did. I lost some health, but didn't die...then they were stuck in the chopper with no pilot! The empire state building is pretty cool, GREAT view from up there, no way I could find to get down though so eventually I just had to jump and die.

Lately I've been playing the single player though...GREAT, but difficult! I'm only at like 40%. I love that you can do the missions over if you fail them, just wish it wasn't such a long drive to some of them for the repeat!
 
Can your crew shoot out from the side doors of the chopper? This setup would make for a devastating thing to have in the team deathmatch game.

You don't have to drive to the begining of the mission .

Pull your cellphone and in the message folder you can just jump to the begining.

Yes. As the pilot you are shooting the big guns at the front of the helicopter...but anyone in the chopper with you can also shoot their own guns out of the side doors...just like in a car.


Driving to re-start a multiplayer mission - I know you just pull out your cell phone and respond to the text, but I'm saying sometimes the missions start and you have to drive a long way to get to the actual action, the meat of the mission if you will. Specific instance I'm talking about is going to kill the Union leaders/bosses...downtown is a long drive! :laughing Wish I could just get it right the first time!
