L&L Hawaiian BBQ

Looks like all the good stuff on overload - calories, cholesterol, sodium. :wtf

You just haven’t gotten the good stuff.

Well, it was a Goldilocks, so you're probably right about that. And I was tricked into eating it before I knew what it was. I don't really have a desire to eat pig blood.

Bleh. I’d order the picadillo at Goldilocks before anything. Where do you usually go? Or rather where are you located. I’m sure I can find a better Filipino place for you than Goldilocks!

thanks to this thread it made me stop by and get me some chicken katsu last night

Hey Hoho, find me a dope eatery out here in the east bay sticks.

But if you do not feast on the blood, how do you survive the burning of the day star? Do you only emerge from your crypt at night? I gotta warn you, bro, the living catch on to that shit.

Dude. Dinuguang bagnet is fucking awesome. I need to find a place that serves that. So good!!

They have bags of the chichirones on the counter that they make at Kusina ni Tess. I reckon you could do that on dinuguan day.

ah, chocolate meat

I don't know the names of all the dishes but the phillipinos I worked with in SD just called it chocolate meat.

Not a fave but it's not bad.

Oooh. A Challenge! Let me see what I can find. My friend used to run one near Sun Valley Mall. Basically across the freeway.rom there. But she closed it down when she got married, I believe.

Let me see what I can find.

Actually Goldilocks dinuguan is my favorite dinuguan. :rofl

Took another BARFer there for lunch and had him chowing down on dinuguan. He was all about it until I told him what it was. I don't think it's a flavor issue with white people, it's the psychological factor of what they're eating that turns them off.

I mean, I figured you be into blood for the blood gods.

And yeah, I'm a night dweller.

There's better out there than Goldilocks.

Dudes, try the buffet on Sundays at Fort McKinley in I think Sout San Francisco. One of the best brunch places for Filipino food IMHO. Kuya's Asian Cuisine is one of my favorite non-brunch Filipino restaurants. These are all in the peninsula though.

I'll try *almost* anything. (I have no desire to try balut.) My girlfriend at the time (wife) got some for us. I had no idea what it was. I ate some with her. It was edible, but I didn't really care for it. I was mostly being polite. But then, when she told me what it was, that's when I had to check out. :laughing

I don't fuck around with a balut. WTF is up with that smell?

Yeah, I have no desire to eat balut either.

What's weird is I ate balut all the time when I was a kid. Used to be a dude that walked around our neighborhood selling balut and he always stopped by our house because we always bought some.

Now I can't stomach the thought of eating it. Had a buddy actually bring some out during a camping trip last year and I was game but as soon as he cracked one open and I caught a whiff of it I noped out.

Never liked balut. Some of my friends do, but not me..
