L&L Hawaiian BBQ

For folks who live/work in SF, I made an unexpected discovery recently near the Civic station BART: https://goo.gl/maps/v6EYUwYeQYpaGov99

Generous portions, yet extremely affordable with a very friendly staff. The egg on the loco moco is *aggressively* runny. :laughing

Their katsu dish is great too and fun to share bites between the two plates with a friend.

Around there, I normally only frequent Viva la tarte, City Beer Store (for the food, not the beer) or Brenda's.

You don't like the Cadillac? That place is a classic.

So I just tried L&L Hawaiian for the first time. It was much better than I ever thought it would be. Damn! Where have you been all my life? :drool

The L&L off coleman in SJ is fantastic. The one off Kearny in SF, not so much.

J&J is the best in the east bay IMO.

We have some of the Ono chain near us.

And, all I can say, is that whatever they serve here tastes pretty much exactly like what they serve at the Rainbow Grill in Honolulu.

I love their macaroni salad. And the rest is yummy too, I gravitate to the mixed plate.

Yup, the mixed bbq at Ono Hawaiian is pretty consistent. The portions are so huge that I have to share the order. Quick easy comfort food (as an occasional treat) during the pandemic

Coming from and growing up in two food desserts, I keep finding amazing food out here. Hawaiian BBQ is by far my favorite new find. L&L is great, so is Hula Wok in San Ramon. Low carb plate with a musibi trio and I have leftovers for lunch the next day.

I've been to the place about three times, better than a kick in the teeth, but still fast food. Nothing special, but reasonably edible IMO.

I pretty much ALWAYS want a SPAM Musubi. :dunno

I'm glad my roommate is Filipino and makes some legit flip food that's easy and quick.

My wife is Filipino there’s always spam and hotdogs in my house:rofl

Same here. Filipino wife, always spam and rice in the house.
