TOS are basically just protecting trolls at this point, and the conversation I used to find so enlightening here is pretty much gone.

Going back to reading post 2, Mcmarklin only said something offensive if you assume he was being sarcastic. When he was queried about it and asked if he thought it isn't horrific, he said, "Of course not. It would be horrible. I said as much. Please re-read my post."

Is everybody getting spun up under a false assumption? Seems like a distinct possibility. I don't think what Mcmarklin said deserves suspension even if offending people was against TOS.

It may well have been a sarcastic comment. I'm not trying to spin anything. Just pointing out what was actually said, vs the way it was interpreted. Ever have somebody get upset over an email or text over something that was misinterpreted due to not being able to convey tone?

But back on topic, this will be a massive disaster if the dam fails. The consequences are unlikely to be limited to Iraq. So whatever your opinions of the people who live there, you should be concerned.

Whether a bigoted remark or a foul joke, if it causes divisiveness it will be subject to the above TOS amendment.

Everyone can decide what it was on their own as it should be.
