But again you have to really wonder if his current or past weight in GP is hurting him. Just one of those things you will never find out till he says something about it years from now.

Ben is shorter yet heavier than Rossi. Why would Ben need to gain weight? He rides the shit out of a bicycle so he is strong and lean with excellent endurance.

Everyone has different body types, Rossi appears to be the lengthly skinny guy (like Colin) his weight doesn't vary much. Ben is not that and it shows plus he's only like 1 inch shorter if at that.

You're absolutely right, according to the official numbers. I thought Ben looked pretty gaunt last season, before the shoulder injury. I am built where I look much slimmer than my actual weight, but I think Spies was easily below 150. Rossi has always been slightly built. If ben would just chime in with his dress size, we could figure this all out.

Muscle is denser than fat. (Which is why I am a muscle head - not a fat head.)
wait.... did I say that right?

has it ever occured to yall that it may just be that ben isnt as good as we expected? I had pretty high expectations, but those have been tempered by the idea that simply, ben isnt as good as the top guys in motogp. when I look at motogp, I see a long list of guys that simply, are better than ben

rossi
dani
jorge
dovi
casey(at the time)
nicky
MM?

then I see a list of guys whom I think are right on par with ben, like alvaro, cal, and bradl (not including RDP and aleix who i think on protoypes would be right around, tho slightly below, ben)

to me, as I look back at bens motogp career, I see someone who fits nicely around midpack, with a few podiums thrown in. then I see up and commers like iannone, espargaro, redding, and a few other moto2 guys, and I wonder if ben will even BE IN MOTOGP in the next few years

the way i look at it is that if you are capable of winning the title in the AMA and the WSBK, you should be able to at least be competitive in motogp. it would be easy to say that ben just isnt good enough to run with the big boys, but i think he has just been a victim of circumstance thus far, and as a result, his confidence and passion for the sport has taken a major blow.

If you hold 2012 against him yes you are right. If you consider alot of 2012 was out of his control I think you are wrong.

just for the sake of argument lets throw out 2012 (although I don tthink you should, but we will do so anyway)

dovi did better than him on a sat yam, and cal did just about as good. ben has one win under dubious circumstance, just like dovi did.

on a factory yamaha he had four podiums, including a win. no better than dovi did on a factory honda, and obviously not as good as nicky had done on a factory honda.

if you only include his first two years, plus his zook wild cards, I dont see a lot showing that ben is anything other than a midcard rider, who had one good ride at assen where everything was perfect.

add in the fact ben seems more interested in cycling, and surrounds himself with suspect crew (house has to go, as does his mother at this point), I just dont see ben as the talent others do, at least not now.

honestly, i think too much is made of what he did before motogp. those just arent the big leagues.

You might be right. We all clearly had high hopes for him, mostly because he's an American. But as we've seen time and time again, success in AMA and even WSBK does not often equate to success in MotoGP. Perhaps he's just not right for prototype racing, and instead should go back to more production bike style racing?

MM, Alvaro, cal and bradl :rofl a combined four 3rd places.

Ben has a 3rd and 2nd his 1st full year on a tec3 bike.

1st, 2nd and two 3rds his 1st year on a factory bike.

Dovi had a single win his 1st year on a factory Honda (best bike on the grid) and nothing else. His win came with rain here is the podium from that race Adrea, Colin, Randy and fucking deangelis in 4th LOL

Unfortunately I think spies has sealed his fate by going to sat ducati...

Like I said, unless he signs with zook, he won't be in motogp by 2015.

I think for a variety of reasons, iannone is going to outshine him. Number one being, iannone will ride like a jackass lol spies won't take risk

And in which season did Ben have more points then Dovi? None.

Oh, THE house has to go. I see now.

Wait, why does he need to get rid of the house?

Your right none, what happened in ZOOG again?

The idea is that House is a big source of Ben's issues. Almost as if he is not on par to run a team on the GP level. Why his mom needs to go is beyoned me... she has been a damn good manager and always made sure he got PAID and good rides. Too many things happened this past year to BLAME mom for the current ride.
