NFL 2023

How to get fired in the Not For Long professional football league:

Your opponent was shutout the previous week and lost in a 3-0 contest.

Then, you give up 42 points to said opponent in the first half of the Thursday Night Football feature game on Amazon Prime Video.

Oh yeah, you coach the defensive side of the ball.

Buh bye.

All my Raider-supporting bros at the gym showed up this morning with their cleanest, shiniest Raider gear. They were walking on sunshine, oh-oh….

And this is just icing on the cake that was this week for Raider Nation:

... the league has fined Reid $100,000 and Mahomes $50,000 for violating NFL rules prohibiting public criticism of game officials and unsportsmanlike conduct for abusive, threatening or insulting language to officials, plus violating long-standing league rules prohibiting public criticism of refs, respectively.

Face paint that one... :laughing

Best comment I've read about this is Mahomes and Reid are going to bundle the fines through State Farm and save $$. :laughing

I'm glad they lost because the 49ers are the first team to clinch the playoffs because of it.

You're welcome.

LOL, it really does seem like Christmas came early for the Raiders this week though.

It's great to see Flacco having such a great time.

He must be pinching himself.

Oh, I don't know, they guy is a former Superbowl MVP in the twilight of his career.

I figure it is more of a, "nice to be having fun again here at the end of the road," sort of conversation, you know?

One thing I've noticed is the number of really young looking head coaches in both the NFL and top college teams.

How long has this trend been going on?

Seems like it's somewhat hard to really gauge the quality of a coach when they've moved up so fast. I know there are several who weren't nearly as good as their reputation, I can't help wondering how many know how to imitate their mentors but like any imitation aren't nearly as good as the real geniuses. It's one thing to do the same things, but if you don't really understand the foundation that knowledge is based upon, you can't make the adjustments to any flaws in the schemes as the game continues to evolve.

I mean, the Redskins tried to bring back Joe Gibbs and it was a disaster. I don't think Age is really the thing.
