NFL 2023

You got me there. I never even heard of it until recent times, and it’s always a Cowboys game. They have a special logo and the broadcasters have to say it about three of four times during the game. It makes Jerra Jones a bit more odious when they get that moniker even when stinkin’ up the joint because you wonder.. I get envious that Joe Lacob can’t get that golden shower of respectability i some way for the Dubs. Year after year, the Lakers have some kind of upper track because of LeBaby, I guess.

But yeah, I do know about the decisions to broadcast nationally with winning teams. This seems a little different. It’s like some big deal so we can see Jerra sitting in the skybox with retired stars. Ho-hum. It’s bad enough that of our broadcaster choices, we already got Tony or Troy for big games. And that red-haired stooge Jason Garrett. And at halftime or pre and post, we were stuck with. Irvin or Deion (until he went to Colo). America’s Team with America’s Game, yuck.

I hate that America's team trash. In the NFC East, there is only one team that suits up in Red, White, and Blue every week and yes, they are the team from the single biggest market in the country. But sure, Jerry, you 1970's Used Car Salesman looking prick.

Nevertheless, they are the biggest team in the NFL. Win, lose, or draw, the biggest teams are:

1) Dallas Cowboys, $9 billion
2) New England Patriots, $7 billion
3) Los Angeles Rams, $6.9 billion
4) New York Giants, $6.8 billion
5) Chicago Bears, $6.3 billion

So in Prime Time, you just kind of have to deal with those teams getting preferential treatment until someone else gets bigger.

I just never quite understood what calling it that name had anything to do with anything. It’s already being broadcast in the respective markets or beyond. What happens on that single day? They sell more jerseys or something?

Ah well fuggedaboutit. We’ll see which one it is later today..

... and Mahomes better get his mah-ass fined for his tantrum and tirade against the ref that made the call on Toney's obvious offsides penalty.

I missed it... I need to check in on this thread more often. :laughing

Damn... 9ers looked pretty damn dynamic!

Man, all the 49er likely challengers for the most part laid a turd this past week.

Other than the Cowboys.

SF has the Cardinals, then the big Ravens game, then the Redskins/Commanders and Rams.

Cowboys have the Bills, Dolphins, Lions and Redskins/Commanders.

I'm glad they lost because the 49ers are the first team to clinch the playoffs because of it.

What was weird were two tight finishes on a night they broadcast two different games. They even did the split screen so I watched the Giants get that field goal at the very end. In the meantime, the Titans just honed in took care of business where they weren’t expected to. It was really fun to watch. I have no skin in the game per se but I am a fan of DeAndre Hopkins. I guess he’s kind of a head case or diva anymore but that guy is an exciting receiver. Derrick Henry seems to have become very normal after having been so dynamic and that was kind of sad.
But the main storyline was seeing a fairly unknown young QB tough it out through diversity and triumph.

The Dolphins been riding high but they got punched pretty good last night.
