OK, that was COLD this morning...

It was 33 degrees in Pleasant Hill yesterday morning when I rode in at 6:15, that was cold. Today was for like 36. I was thankful fo those 3 degrees.

I was actually expecting black ice when I hit the fog patch at the 280-92 interchange at around 7 am. I could not believe the amount and thickness of ice on my truck when I parked the bike this morning!

My seat was frozen this morning, I wiped off the ice and went to work only to find out that the seat cracked and split across the middle :mad

Now I need to get it fixed or at least find a cover for a 21 year old bike.

No worries...........we all have a crack and

oh wait, you mean bike seat. nevermind.

16 F when I rode my sumo (no wind protection) to work Tuesday. A whopping 31 F when I rode it home.
Yeah, but it's a dry cold! :rofl :rofl :rofl (That's what my cuisin in Montana tells me when I ask him how he can survive those -40 degree winters up there!)

I've ridden here when it wuz down yo 16 degrees a couple years ago, but it didn't seem cold cuz it wuz "dryer." I'm with the OP, it felt cold this 'morn cuz it wuz cold & damp with fog.

I picked a GREAT day to leave the heated gear at home.

Rode from Arroyo Grande to Salinas this a.m. Freezing fog in North SLO County up till about 101 / 198. We were sporting our full liners in our pants and jacket and was still nearlt too cold on the way up. I damned near turned around in San Miguel but kept pressing on.

Forecast didn't call for that one along our route when I checked.

Yes cold, but it warmed up, and turned into a really nice day. Rain a coming...

i pussed out and took the beemer. outside temp at 0800 in san francisco read 40. the duc stayed in the garage and i drank coffee and listened to the radio on my way to work. there actually are pluses to owning a car. i would have never guessed...

I was cold after I got to work and got out of my gear. The ride in was fine.... though I suppose my 10 minute ride isn't much :D I have tuned my gear selection quite well for the change in weather though.

and FWIW

COLD > RAIN

Though I enjoy riding in the rain, it's a welcoming sight to see dry pavement again.

It was about 35 degrees the past couple of days here in northern Santa Barbara County. Luckily, I've got about a 7 minute commute, 5 if I'm in a big hurry. The machines (big ass CNC Mills), sure suck up the cold and keep the shop cold all day.

Warm and toasty heated liner and gloves to start the day again. Don't forget about the Fog-City wipes too! :thumbup

Wore the Balaclava and it made the ride home a lot more tolerable. I was freezing last night through my Gore-Tex with liner, uniform, vest and shirt; and really dreading the trip home...

OK, today was colder. Shaved the beard last night and that was a mistake.

...more water in the air.

Now you have to make the distinction between latent moisture content and humidity. They have the opposite effect on wind chill.

Today my hands were FROZEN and my rides less than 15 miles hahha

Indeed. I still have my beard, but took my jacket liner out last night. (don't like the extra bulk) If my commute was longer, I would have been freezing my ass off. As it was, it was just brisk. My neck was stinging after just a few minutes, though - guess I'm gonna have to dig out my neck warmer thing.

Yes, it was colder today, but i still didn't need any heated gear. Course, I was in the Mercedes. Guess that means I am a weenie too. Still have my beard, all over my body.

turtle fur, for the win !
